Okay, give me the high concept pitch!

It's asteroids the MMORPG. With Giant Enemey Crabs.

Does it cost anything?

At the moment it's in open Alpha testing, it's compeltely free.

Alpha? That doesn't sound like fun. Could you convince me otherwise?

Indeed I could, although it's only in alpha and only two gameplay areas are avaiable, one of those ares is pure, unadulterated fun.

Pure, Unadulterated Fun You Say?

The Neutral Zone is a self-contained area where players are split into two teams based on race. Starting at their starbase players must extend a line of ouposts and science labs across the map to the opponents' base and it's ultimate destruction.

I recommend a play guide (like this and this) before diving right in but you can go straight in and be useful. I'm going to write my own guie and put it in the next post.

Sounds awesome. What about the other zone?

Delta 3 is a traditional MMORPG zone. Mobs randomly spawn, you can fly around zaping them whilst mining asteroids and crystals. NPCs also spawn as mission providers and are a great way of getting XP. The general rule of Delta 3 is hunt in packs, mine alone.

You mentioned someting about giant enemy crabs?

The titular Armada of the game. Biomechanical horrors that threaten all people. They're space crabs.

Weak Spots?

None

!#?& But how can you strike them for massive damage?

By selecting the right skills. Then you nail them for massive damage.

Any Screenshots?

I hadn't heard of this before but the first thing I thought of was Armada for the Dreamcast, which was a pretty sweet game. Apparently this actually is a sequel of sorts. I'm definitely in, I'll try it out tonight.

It totally was and I totally liked it, even if a bit mediocre. The original was supposed to have been an online title but I guess it was rushed and was released without it. I was hoping they'd get around to this. Oh man!
