So... yea... lemonhope episodes 1 and 2 played back to back today
The kid was pretty damaged from living in the hellhole of lemonkeep. He wants nothing to do with them ever again because that would just lead to remembering his childhood all over again.
It might be self-serving that he only came back to deal with his issues, but in the end, it was the right thing to do in order to confront lemongrab and repay his debts to those that helped him out of there
in the first place.
Lemonhope repaid his debts, he owes nothing to no one anymore and is finally free. Good for him.
There's a presuming theory I have of this episode and another theory regarding a certain other show.
There's a bit in the first season of the Bravest Warriors that there's seems to be a rather pixelated but rather distinct image of a torn Earth as seen briefly on Adventure Time.
Some theorize that this may tie both shows together, but that remains to be seen.
I am assuming, if that were the case, then by that point and time once Lemonhope arrives at a decrepit, yet advanced city of what I presume was Candy Kingdom, anyone once there probably left to colonize Mars.
But we will have to see how both shows play out...
It's a bit of a stretch, but that's my take on the matter.
Also, PB's song was beautifully touching, melancholy and almost heart-breaking. Surprising coming out her of all people!
Next week is the season finale! I am utterly stoked considering the repertoire of previous seasons ended in rather amusing plot developments.
So here's hoping they keep to that...

Man, I kept getting a strong North Korea vibe from that video that played at the beginning.
PB has been steadily revealing herself to be a pretty dark person over the last few seasons. Hell, all the way back in season 1 (I think), look at how she treated the Duke of Nuts. She's got a real totalitarian streak about her and she doesn't seem to have many lines she's unwilling to cross (morally-speaking) to preserve the things she sees as important. She is hundreds of years old, so some of that probably comes from having ruled a post-apocalyptic kingdom for so long. Man, now I kind of want to do an in-depth review of morality in the Adventure Time universe. There's a lot of interesting themes there.

Was good to Rattleballs, though only because Jake interfered. That story was rather terrible in a tragic way.
Rattleballs really reminded me of some old samurai flick, where the local shogun had to do away with the ronin he'd hired after there was peace, I wonder what I'm thinking of
Princess Bubblegum has had dungeons and secret passages just plumb full of skeletons since the beginning. And seeing how she built the goddamn kingdom I'm not about to assume they came with the castle.

Lemonhope was even at the end a lemon person so it makes sense that his actions were ultimately self serving . I feel sorry for lemongrab prime though. Hes basically doomed to be alone forever.

Huh... apparently someone told me that they have an Adventure Time-related tumblr that states Finn's birthday is in mid-March. Which puts him now at the nice age of 16.
Dunno how much of that is true or not, or even if it's official, but it seems oddly appropriate given the season finale promo.
Still, lil' man really needs to put those growing pains to use.

I can tell you how I felt about it after watching the first episode - I felt like it was basically as stupid, poorly drawn, and random as Uncle Grandpa. I'll end up giving it another try because I'm sure my son will try again too (even he didn't like it), but I don't have high hopes.
