Did you know Nick Offerman (Ron Swanson) is a well respected carpenter and wood worker? He also owns a woodshop which is staffed by very attractive and talented people.

so I didn't keep watching
You've probably heard this a lot but the first season was relatively weak. They took a while to find their feet and you can pretty safely skip it all together.
I initially had the same response you did, and didn't watch it for a long ass time, but I decided to tough it out because I like a lot of the people involved. My girlfriend hated the first season, but once we got to the 2nd season we had a hard time stopping.
The writing is really clever and the characters are super genuine and fun to be around. All of them are terrible and wonderful at the same time.
Yeah I'd heard that enough that when I started it last month I jumped straight to season 2. Good show, though I generally preferred the side plots to whatever Leslie was up to that episode.

It gets a million billion times better, I usually tell my friends to skip the first season when they start watching it.
I saw half the pilot and turned it off.
I should maybe give it another shot.

alright, yeah, I'll add it to my mental list of shit to do
it gets consistently better as the series goes, but if you're that put off by it, there probably isn't much there for you
