I think you got @ed when we noticed this in the programming thread but I guess I'll go ahead and make an official post about it. The new(ish) post box has some weird behavior when it parses to see if people are making a list.
Actually it looks like the first bug might have gotten fixed where ending a line with a number and a period or an asterisk and a period made it think the next line was an element in a list. But I just found out it wants to do it for numbers in quote tags

If I hit enter after that line it'll insert a 5.blah blah 4. blah
