Listen, Doomguy had his priorities straight, why even do those countless thousands of crunches if you're just going to cover them up while you're doing the raddest shit in the world, exactly when you want people to be able to see your torn abs the most.

    Ahsoka is awesome.

I disliked her at first too, but as the seasons went on she grew up a lot.

she is also the only one who points out how hypocritical and unsustainable the jedi code it in any sort of believable capacity

I kinda wonder if after the NT is released, someone will write a book about Ahsoka meeting Luke as a kinda brother/sister moment with a "your father trained me" type deal.

Armor is useless in Star Wars anyway. Lot of good is does for those storm troopers who die from 1 shot or get sliced up by lightsabers.

Mandalorian armor is 100% about looks.

It lets you know you are about to fight a badass, and nothing else.

Pretty much. Even in the Old Republic era, the armor was used to signify rank/squad and not much else.

    no

no armor was really good about blocking blaster shots

jedi and sith stopped wearing it because they fought each other for so long that it only limited mobility and was useless against a saber

Well, I mean, real-life soldiers wearing body armor generally get knocked on their ass if they take a direct hit from a rifle, and it isn't great for your health even if it doesn't penetrate

it's probably fair to assume that the armor, like real body armor, is primarily intended to protect them from shrapnel and gas and shit

Or from sudden explosive depressurization since they are in fact supposed to be fighting on board spaceships in space using dubiously accurate high-energy weapons

Star Wars armor can't even protect a wearer from rocks and sticks being hurled by teddy bears, let alone laser beams or energy swords or shrapnel.

    Now I am just sad

She seems... maybe kind of generic?

I'm not really sure, though, since it doesn't contain an actual clip of her.

Just some crew talking about her in ways that don't really tell much other than... she's an action girl who likes grafiti?

I suppose that's something to be excited about. I guess?

Okay serious question, where does it get good?

Because what I've seen of it ranged from okay to garbage.

There are some okay episodes in seasons one and two, and then those build off into really awesome episodes later one using characters in those okay ones. I'm on Season 5 now and it has been pretty consistently good.

I just can't bring myself to care about Star Wars outside of the new flicks

Clone Wars (beyond Tartakovsky's run) and Rebels and else wise just hold zero appeal for me

Which is fine, those are ostensibly for kids and all

Did Rebels come out of that rumored live action drama they were planning for the last ten years or is that still in some circle of development hell?

happy 100th birthday, sir alec guinness

I remember a story about him on Wait Wait, Don't Tell Me.

Apparently, Mark Hamil was asking him about his craft and how he would do THIS, or that, until Alec Guiness just gave him 50 bucks to stop bugging him.

Clone Wars was surprisingly violent. There are a ton of deaths even in the first season.

The main problem with the show was that it was constrained by the prequels and the crappy film that was released in theaters. The show was reasonably good despite all the dumb crap Lucas forced on it. However, it could have been so much better if it didn't have those limitations.

Clone Wars gets pretty good from season 3 onwards. And surprisingly dark for a kids show.

It does the process of Anakin's slow and steady downfall far more justice than the movies got anywhere close to doing.

Also it give's a pretty decent amount of screen time to the various trooper squad members, which I thoroughly enjoy, despite the recurring terrible faux-Kiwi accent.

If I recall, Mandalorian armor has been able to block blaster shots
That's why Fett's is so beat up

I recall a story where he took a shot square in the chest, and even then it knocked him on his ass and heated the breastplate up enough to burn him underneath

But I know someone's gonna start some shit about Fett now so I don't know why I said anything
