33 is aging? Have you seen Jennifer Lopez lately? Age doesn't really matter if you put most 20-somethings to shame.

As a sex symbol? Yes very much aging. Its not fair, but that's life. Alba is old news.

I totally disagree, and Lopez is still a sex symbol, which is why I brought her up.

If Jessica Alba offered herslef to me, I certainly wouldn't turn her down.

    But then I'd wake up...

like, why does it matter. it's not like batman is the paragon in maximal utility. I mean, he dresses like a damn bat. He has a huge cape that is easily tangled in shit.

Also, I guess I just don't care. Batman is fantasy. It doesn't stretch my disbelief that in one scene the eyes on his suit glow white.

Alba's not relevant. She'd still be a sex symbol if she wasn't in shitty movies. And the non-nudity clause dampened enthusiasm. She isn't like Deborah Ann Woll whose mad talented and sexy as hell. Also also, Eva Green.

There are better movies/shows, where you can see Green naked.

Green doesn't have to get naked to over shadow Alba.

Green is by far sexier to me....

    But, semantics.

These are all dangerously attractive women being discussed here, Alba just happens to be the eldest and least revealed on film?

Anyhow, trailers are cool, that Sin City Again one was missing one thing from the first teaser we had: dat JGL smirk.

  • PreacherPreacher Registered User regular
I'm sure the writing, sense of style, and general coherence will also be missing.

With how good Fury Road looks I really can't understand how it's taken three years to finally be released.

This isn't some old granny who doesn't know that Action Comics #1 she has is more than just a comic book, it's an executive being blind and deaf as he stamps approvals for Sex Tape and Trascendence.

I love that Mad Max trailer. I keep thinking how it is possible that a Mad Max movie made nowadays looks that good? How? What Dark God did they offer a live sacrifice to in order to make this happen?

I hope this means that the Mad Max game being made by the Just Cause folks is not just a poor movie tie in.

A lot of people who work on movies don't watch a lot of movies. I can see someone passing on a movie about a guy who barely talks driving across a desert by the guy who made Happy Feet.

Someone on the forum mentioned that the film company didn't know what to do with it, it's nearly a full movie chase scene.

  • TexiKenTexiKen Dammit! That fish really got me!Registered User regular
I mentioned that, but that was before I saw the footage.

I was expecting something like the opening of Road Warrior for a full film (or that epic chase in The Good, the Bad, the Weird), a bunch of close up shots and a literal chase.

This looks artful, and all the explosions, I would have piggybacked this off of Fast 6 last year and made fat skrilla, yo.

they were planning on shooting back to back with the sequel/prequel/whatever mad max: furiosa (its written at least) but it didn't happen. when they finished they didn't have enough money for the originally planned ending so made do with something else. they cut together what they had with fury road they had showed it to the financiers, who loved it. miller then got given more money to go film his original ending.

plus when they were filming, they were in the same locations as road warrior but it started having freak thunderstorms so they had close down production for awhile and then moved everything over to namibia.

Someone needs to make a documentary about this movie getting made.

It's like the same exact indie plot you've seen dozens of times before, only this time about rich people!

I root for the delivery vehicle at the end.

edit: bet it was written by some trust fund Manhattan kid who went to NYU and thinks he/she has character, and then funded by her parents and socialites in their circle. yep. broad strokes to my brush are the best.

Its why I prefer fantasy/scifi/action, because most of the time I don't get the entire whiny life story of the person who wrote one of those.

    I am torn.

I love Jason Bateman, but that looks fucking insipid.

I submitted an entry to Lego Ideas, and if 10,000 people support me, it'll be turned into an actual Lego set!If you'd like to see and support my submission, follow this link.

Show the trailer to your wife, if she likes it and wants to see it, if it sucks you can totally blame her for making you go. Its how I wrote off Lucy.

    You're probably exactly right, though.

The dude who wrote and directed the film is not quite that.

    Peter Glanz

"Glantz founded trutheatertheater, called "an elusive troupe of actors, silkscreeners, puppeteers, noisemakers, musicians, videographers and illusionists from Providence, Rhode Island whose performances are akin to mystical rites of passage that is the digestive process of transforming truth into theater." They are known for performing in illegal locations, including abandoned buildings and public parks."

This is pretty cool though: "Glantz's first job in film was as Roger Corman's assistant."

The wiki article is probably written by someone who knows him.

  • PreacherPreacher Registered User regular
The hella sounds like trust fund kid who has never known poverty. First job in film is roger corman's assistant? Yeah that's not someone who struggled like others.

So...Romantic comedies aren't your thing? Cool. Not very much my thing, either, but this one at least looks like it has some kind of heart. Reminds me a lot of my friends and their womanizing ways. And I've enjoyed Bateman & Wilde enough I may give it a chance when it comes out...

Can we get the chemicals in. 'Cause anything's better than this.
  • PreacherPreacher Registered User regular
I don't mind romantic comedies, but a romantic comedy about a bunch of whiny rich white people dealing with their "problems" I'd rather nail my dick to a rabid badger.
