oh my god the Tidesoftime thing you guys were talking about earlier was too funny, I was watching that circus live as it happened
the best thing about that was Frodan (who i think is currently the TempoStorm manager/pr guy?) skype calling Reynad live on his stream, and having a conversation about Tides' condition that ended in Reynad sighing and saying "I am not driving 40 minutes to check on Tides." He forgot to turn his mic off though - probably because he was also, as usual, drinking on his stream - so viewers got to hear the whole thing and it was hilarious
Frodan has a disturbingly hard job between controlling Reynad's silly comments and half of his team's silly streamed drinking habits, plus Reckful (who is 1/5 the team) not even really existing on Earth anymore
Thinning your deck is usually to your advantage rather than a penalty. Sometimes you'll get a terrible choice, but I've found that it often just lets me toss cards I'd never want to see in the mid-late game anyway.
disliking tracking because it discards cards is the same kind of new to card games thinking that makes people wary of the warlock hero power because it hurts you

I think Twitch should penalize people who stream themselves abusing alcohol / drinking while driving. There's a fine line there, but I think 'drinking until you literally pass out' clearly crosses it.
No revenue for the next [X] days of streaming seems like it would be appropriate, perhaps after some stern written warnings.
It's all fun & games until someone actually gets themselves hurt.
Deck thinning is incredible for aggro/combo decks. Their built in weakness is running out of options. Being able to dig for them and get the right card consistently is huge.
How many times have you seen Miracle Rogue Fan of Knives an empty board?
Oh, oh, I forgot my favorite story from last night. Early in the evening I went up against a Mage deck that had to be like...at least two-thirds spells. It was bizarre. So of course they had plenty of board clear but almost no actual board presence.
But every time they would clear my minions with a Blizzard or a Flamestrike they'd give me the "oops" or the "sorry." This was especially funny after the second Flamestrike killed 4 minions, because the Mage clearly thought they were doing well, then I dropped a Tundra Rhino and Stranglethorn Tiger together on the next turn (I actually felt proud of myself for that play because I'd learned enough to hold them back and wait for the second Flamestrike...having to unlearn Magic habits still...). I ended up winning pretty handily because all they had to damage me was like Fireballs and pings. Presumably a Pyroblast was in there somewhere too but I never saw it.
It was a bizarre deck. The only creatures I saw played were a Kobold Geomancer and a Dalaran Mage, it had all 8 secrets, and it was mostly spells. Really strange. Can't see that going terribly far. I think it was MMMig who made the best point about Flamestrike I've ever seen, which is that it destroys their board but it also obliterates your momentum with its mana cost and it's easy to play around. Having strong board clear isn't great by itself.
I have a similar deck. Every Mage secret, then every minion that interacts with secrets, then some other random spells and things that work well with spells. It's fun!
Totally disagree, that's an incredibly open-ended way to punish people and a lot of fun streams (especially during the weekend) involve people having a drink or playing games with a group of streamers that involve some sort of drinking game element to them
If people want to make videos of themselves being idiots, be it on youtube or twitch or whatever, let them do it! as long as there's nothing expressly illegal going on it's not only awesome entertainment, it's also not something that should be punished

I'm sure this is true, but it just doesn't feel very good to me. You can't play around the drawback like with soulfire, and you can't get those cards back while you can heal damage. It feels like it has a restricting effect on the types of deck hunters can run.

Remember that post I made a while back saying that some people were thinking about using Lorewalker Cho and Shadowform to ruin the boss's hero power in Solo Adventures? Welp

A well documented and studied phenomenon in card games. It's generally why you try to avoid negative downsides on cards unless it's absolutely necessary to balance the ability/card. New players have very strong negative reactions to tension.

So I did not realize that the Webspinner's deathrattle doesn't summon a beast from your deck but just summons a totally random beast.
WTB Hunter class challenge nao.
It doesn't summon it - it just tutors it into your hand.
It's a pretty weak card, in my opinion. I'd much rather rely on Tracking, which will consistently find you a tool you need, vs a card that will often give you either a bad weenie (raptor, crab, chicken, croc) or a dead card (Krush, Maexxna).
Fuck Tracking. That card has screwed me (oh, here's both your UtHs and a Highmane, now choose one!) way more than it's helped me, and going late game the discards really start to hurt as decks get thin. I've literally lost to control priests because I used Tracking and had to discard, whereas if I hadn't I would have almost certainly won. The Webspinner, on the other hand, gives you free cards, and it's not like Hunters have a lot of great 1 mana drops it's competing with.
Tracking is only helpful if you're playing a full aggro Hunter, which I'm not. It's not a bad card, but it's not helpful for the kind of deck I like to run.

It's way easier for me to stomach discards in MtG than in Hearthstone, because MtG has decks that are literally double the size, a much bigger starting hand, and cards that it doesn't hurt that much to discard like lands. Any discard I do in Hearthstone is trading an advantage later for an advantage right now because all my cards are useful, and if that advantage doesn't end up working out it can bite you in the ass hard. Having to discard a Highmane or a Stranglethorn Tiger so that you can get an UtH really, really hurts if you can't win soon after.
edit: I should also note that I am not good at running aggro decks and I don't like running aggro decks, so cards like Tracking that are perfect for aggro decks don't work for me really.

Having a drink =/= driving around while drunk.
No, I'd rather not just have a laissez faire policy when it comes to that, but hey, they're not my services.
it says spectral in the deathrattle, which implies that they aren't beasts
also you get to see them while doing the naxx content...
Why should a player have trust in the names of creatures? Is a spider a beast? Why is a young dragonhawk a beast and not a dragon? Why are druid "beast" cards (cat and bear) not affected by beast effects?
a spider is a beast, but a ghost is never a beast, because it is dead
a dragon is different from a dragonhawk
Druid cards are humans shape shifting, not actual beasts
Druids are considered beasts when shapeshifting in WoW. It is hard enough to balance a card game without having to worry about these nomenclature edge cases.

Also there are ghost creatures in WoW that are classed as beasts and can be tamed by Hunters. And literal demon creatures for which the same is true. Etc.
It's not necessarily intuitive and criticizing people who don't intuitively understand a mechanic is just a jerk move.

It's a little weird / arbitrary, but 'Beast' cards are all clearly labelled as that creature type on the bottom of the card. The spectral spiders that spawn out aren't beasts because [arbitrary reasons]; you can always check to be sure that a given critter is or isn't a beast.

Yeah, they don't show up in your collection though, so you can't check until you're in a game (which I think needs to be remedied).
I just lost an arena game to a Mage because I didn't attack the face with my true silver champion one turn earlier. 13 damage from hand at 9 mana was not what inwas expecting.

Someone should suggest to the devs that they include a "token" tab in the collection book that displays the game's token minions whenever you earn a card that spawns that token (so the ghost spiders, Thaddius, Laughing Sister, Emerald Drake, Violet Apprentice, etc.).
I might be the only person in the world who runs deathwing in their deck. Just saw it trigger my nerubian eggs. The threat downside that deathwing gets hard removed the turn after is very much lessened by having two 4/4s on the board.

While in a perfect world, no one would every drink too much, playing Hearthstone is one of the most responsible decisions you can make if you do end up drinking too much.
I just noticed this: Juggler (and presumably every other card that can hit random targets) can now actually whiff completely, hitting targets on the table for overkill damage. This is a pretty huge nerf to these kinds of cards. Like, Avenging Wrath - if it behaves the same way - is now significantly worse, as the equality combo no longer makes it so impactful.

Undecided on the effectiveness of poison seeds. On one hand its pretty nice to blow 8/4 gadgetzans out of stealth into a 2/2 trees and destroy 2 taunted molten giants and some other chaff, other times it just sits in my hand as a dead card. But then again, most of the time the cards I replaced the poison seeds for would be dead cards in the same situation.

I am LOVING Colma's Naxx enhanced Token Druid deck.
I never used Token Druid before so it took a while to get over the learning curve, but now I'm winning pretty reliably.
Just destroyed a Miracle Rogue on turn 8 (Innervate + Force of Nature + Savage Roar FTW). I think they thought my turn 7 Leeroy was a mistake, but I knew what I was doing.
Poison Seeds are pretty handy to make Force of Nature Treants permanent, kind of like a more adaptable version of the Force of Nature/Soul of the Forest combo because I can also use them to take out big shit like Giants and Earth Elementals.
I only have 1 Argent Commander so I replaced one with a Leeroy. It isn't a perfect switch, but it can prove handy all the same. If I do get a second Argent Commander I'll probably take Leeroy out, we'll see how things go.

I used to think that way, but then I tried Warlock out and the card advantage means you'll always have the answer to keep your opponent from punching you very often. Mix in some farseers for a bit of heals and all you have to do is refrain from tapping yourself into whatever class you're playing against's wombo combo range is.

That's the point of face hunter though. You only really want maybe 20 cards? The last 10 aren't optimum for your deck, so you put in tracking and you get to cycle them out more often then not.
