As you know, the annual orgy of giving in the name of the Dark Lord is just around the corner! However, it seems the Prince of Lies
is also subject to torment in Hell and has been given a homework assignment featuring his most feared subject, simple math. He has dispatched me
as his most humble messenger to ask for help, and in return he'll promise to cut down on the use of Pineapples as torture devices in his fiery den (because Fuck Pineapples),
or some other reward that doesn't assume you're the type of person that will be burning in a pit for all eternity.
yeah uh...beelzebub or whoever has a deadly series of problems for you to solve for secret reasons! solve them...if you dare?
1. A company purchases for $48,000 an asset that has a useful life of six years and no salvage value. After two years, the company spends $8,000 for a major overhaul that will extend the machine's useful life four years beyond the original six. Assuming straight-line depreciation, how much depreciation should be taken in year 3?
a) $4,000
b) $5,000
c) $5,600
d) $8,000
2. The portion of a group purchase of land and building for $1,302,000 allocated to land, when the land is appraised at $340,000 and the building on the land is appraised at $1,020,000, is
a) $996,500
b) $325,500
c) $345,500
d) $976,500
3. The entry to record the sale of equipment costing $40,000, with accumulated depreciation of $34,000 and sale price of $7,700, will include
a) a gain on sale of equipment of 1,700
b) a gain on sale of equipment of 7,700
c) a loss on sale of equipment of 32,30
d) a loss of sale of equipment of 26,300
oh can we do this? Ok. I've got a 7 DoF highly coupled end-effector with a 17-DoF manipulator. I need the symbolic Jacobian and inverse kinematics by ... let's say next week.

I think I messed up somewhere. This is using The Geek's answers against the alphabet.
Those are pretend words
You made them up

I don't recall asking anyone to do math of any kind...
Ok so there is another solution to it using a different method. Someone figure out how the negatives factor in to this.
The math problems are not algebra, but the solutions are algebraic. The correct solution has no shades of grey.
Perhaps one of you would like to take a crack at it.
edit are you fucking serious
