    People were setting off things well into the early hours of the morning here.

    I understand the whole "USA! USA!!" thing but if you are starting at Ten PM that is plenty of time to get your 4th of July fun, you should not be going to 4 AM on the 5th.

    I like the big professional shows. And even legal street fireworks are ok. I mean, they are a waste of money, but it's not my money. However, I hate illegal ones. I know the police have other things to worry about, but I'd rather they deal with that than slight parking violations or whatever minor things instead of just ignoring it completely.
