Secret Titanfall thread, I ended up playing this for a couple of hours on Xbox and this game is still really fun. Got back up to level 9 and oh god do I miss electric smoke.
The playerbase seems ok, I only ran into problems a couple of minutes ago when trying to play hard point. There were like 200 people playing that, like double that for the campaign even and something like 2k playing attrition.
If yall are still playing on PC by the time I get paid I might buy it again to play with yall.

I'm just amazed that they don't allow for five player groups. It really shows that "esports" mentality they are chasing where they'd rather get rid of a possible collusion exploit where a group can farm xp together than provide a pretty fun way for a group of people to play together.
Yeah, that's superdumb. Maybe once their e-sports dream tanks, they'll build it for the actual playerbase/community
I've seen this sentiment a lot (I said the same thing when I found out), but Turtle Rock said five person parties were just disabled for the alpha because they wanted to test the matchmaking. They really should've had some sort of message in the game about it.

Really I am still on the fence about Titanfall it looks fun but two people I work with ripped it a new one and whenever it was brought up would air their misgivings about it
I love Titanfall. At this point, the only game that has a chance of dethroning it from the top of my GotY list is Dragon Age. I love the movement, the titans, the smart pistol (I don't care if this makes me a monster), and even the regen challenges. A sequel is near the top of my most wanted games list.

One of the major things that bothered me about Titanfall and turned me off from buying it was the lack of FF in general, and especially between Titans.
Being able to blast a friendly Titan with anti-Titan weaponry WHILE their precious interiors are exposed to allow small arms to do damage is ridiculous, hitting them in that state with the big guns should be a near-death experience for them at best. It just very thoroughly made me nah and wander away.
People have, in the past, responded to this by talking about friendly troops getting crushed by titans walking around, to which my response is parkour. You're meant to be all over the buildings and shit anyway, so get out of the damn way.
I really want FF in a game to show people blazing away and sitting in one spot are very bad ideas when your friends start lobbing grenades to save you from a rush

I'm currently setting up some proper defense / response forces in each city and trying to work out where the city I'm meant to destroy is so that I can make preparations.
