But Generi-White Protagonist turned me way the hell off.
We have enough of those games don't turn Dark Souls games into Generi-White Dude games, because I could easily see it going that route.
This is one of those things where I agree that there needs to be more minority main characters but feel like writing a game off for literally only the reason of white male as the protagonist just seems silly

It's less I'm writing it off, I think it'll be a totally fine Dark Souls clone. I just don't want to encourage that way of thinking.
Generi-White dude is a tried and true method to assure decent sales when the main draw of your game is it's systems. It's perfectly "unoffensive" and "blank", and saves you the trouble of trying to pick a ethnic group/gender, or go the Demon/Dark Souls way and include a character creation system, while allowing you to tell a story with a static protagonist.
It's gotten to the point where, even though in essence it's not offensive, it's used so much, and it's so easily integrated that it's something I don't want to encourage for future Demon/Dark Souls type games.
I can understand it more since it's coming out of Poland, which is one of the more uniformly white countries on the planet
Granted that ethnonational homogeny didn't stop Dark Souls, but from the talk about it I assume Lords of the Fallen has a main character who is not player-defined (I know nothing about Lord of the Fallen)

So no Bloodborne either?
Bloodborne will have character customization like all the other souls games.

Oh for some reason I thought there was a default character
Judging by my experience with Shadow of Mordor I guess I should give Lords of the Fallen a try.
Normally nothing makes me lose all interest in a game faster than saying "you play as a grizzled, angry, white dude", but since Dark Souls is my actual favorite game of all time maybe the gameplay will make up for it.

Yeah you pretty much just have to accept from the get go that you're not gonna care about the characters or dialogue
Which is fine with me because I just want to explore and get Hella loot and this game has that in spades
I remember that part. I just kept trying till I didn't get hit once.
Lucky for all those iframes in the Dodge.
Bayonetta taught me to play character action games. Before that I just couldn't get past the learning curve. Even devil may cry 3 seemed impossible on easy mode.
I beat Bayonetta 1 yesterday. I did not remember the cutscene right after fighting Balder at all and it does actually explain some things about the dumb story.

I got gunned down within the first 5 minutes of Vanquish and rage quited a couple times for a few weeks before finally getting it so that's kinda my true introduction to action games I suppose

ok that is just mean-spirited
...a particularly hungry bokoblin, maybe

bald, sour disposition, runic tattoos
like between the protagonist and the TERRIBLE generic fantasy lore audiologs i was turned right off the setting

why is the camera so dirty
When they catch me they combo literally my whole health bar
Is there any way to break out of being comboed?
Your best bet is the Moon accessory or the one that drops bombs when you dodge. Those assholes don't activate witch time, but the bomb don't care.

Oh I haven't bought any accessories
Might try that
I like this post because it classifies Dark Souls as junk
PKP does a lot of damage and is useful in basically all situations in Bayonetta 1.
Beat em btw.
Mash dodge harder
But it's no longer necessary, the Wii U version is hot
With sound effects and everything.
And rupeeees.
And the shuruba turns into the master sword.
And you get free moon.
You get samus power suit too and can morph ball and your gun is the arm cannon and you can fiddle with the visor manually in custcenes.
Unrelated to 1, but playing link in 2 is especially funny with sword hands and feet because you get to go on
Four Swords Adventures
*looks defiant*
I aint sorry!
Oh yeah, definitely play what you got
Just saying once you get Bayo 2 and play that version of Bayo 1, there's no going back
No awful, awful screen tearing!
I didn't even need the Nintendo costumes, they're just a beautiful bonus
Should I try it on Son of Sparda? Some of the fights in the flaming area after the tower were super frustrating already.
I played the wii u version for basically an hour and now realise I have not yet played bayo 1.

This will be here until I receive an apology or Weedlordvegeta get any consequences for being a bully
Fuck, man
That ones straight busted
Steam
yeah and i swore off cocaine
My first ever action game of this type was DMC3. The edition where normal was hard.
It was either that or not play it
Couldn't find it anywhere locally
Plus it was actually cheaper through the eshop
Yeah its really not that difficult
Yeah. They announced Nintendo costumes for 1 before 2, actually.
