So Monolith is definitely helping to make Breath of the Wild, and a lot of that probably has to do with the specifics of the world structure and how it loads and the like? But I'm only guessing
Apparently the full team size for this game has crested a hundred people, which... is pretty colossal for Nintendo, like wowza

I am super excited for monoliths next game. What they learn from the zelda team and vice versa should be interesting

"Monolithic" is literally a word for large and uniform.
Doesn't it just translate to "one rock"? So it's more of the aesthetic of a single stand-out stone than the size?
I tight that "megalithic" would be more like what we're describing, but apparently it's more about stone construction than size. Though some megalithic structures like Stonehenge are still pretty huge.
Wow, Nintendo teams are usually under a hundred people?
That is extremely small for modern AAA development
The impression I get is that Nintendo tries hard to train and retain their developers so they get really good at developing Nintendo games. You saw it when Iwata took a huge pay cut instead of laying people off when they were going through a really rough patch.
You can get away with smaller teams if the members have a lot of experience working not only on games but with each other
The small teams are also enabled by the fact that they're working on their own hardware. It's one of the things that would change if they ever went third party, in that they'd likely need to greatly increase their dev teams' sizes to handle the different technologies they'd be working with.

Side Comment: I feel way better about buying this Toon Link Amiibo way back when they first came out.
Get on one of the ledges on the wall and snipe from there. But I give it mixed reviews, sometimes up close and personal works out a lot better. Try the one you're not doing for right now!
Between Wyborn and myself we've played Wind Waker at least seven times, and that's not including all the times we've just beat the endgame to watch it. All this time and neither of us knew!
They made their own little "best of" show list and Zelda was up there, but a few of them mentioned wanting to play it on NX because of control issues with the Wii U version
Has anybody else heard anything about this? This is the first time I'd heard someone make note of the controls

It's getting the characters at least. I haven't completed most of the adventure maps.

monoliths can be small
Not by definition.
There's a lot of difference between Uluru and a runestone, y'know.
"Small" is relative.

I do really wish the term "megalithic" got more play. It's a cool word.

I feel like everyone I know who has played that game never used them on there first run, or not at all.
But they work on fricken everything.
Also, Deku Sticks.
Harvest a full bag of them, then kill every child-time boss fight with jump attacks.
