one in the first game was terrible because it is literally impossible to get unless you just completely guess, and now it's even worse with glaaaaaacial rate new letters come in
i'm glad i just stopped caring on that trial because i ended up just completely making total shot in the dark guesses for everything. at one point it does that "PICK THE SUSPECT" and i picked my top 3 guesses, nope, okay, i just went in a circle picking everyone. then for the hangman's gambit i just mashed the first few letters until i got something.
i'm actually even kind of disappointed in that trial for having the audacity to be so shitty because
fuck you I should have cared about peko being executed, considering i was one day away from capping out her hope fragments! but by the time it got to that, just how fucking stupid the case was wore me down completely and i just wanted it all to end. even the emoticons during the whatever justice bit weren't enough, i had completely given up any hope for that trial. it's the exact reason i didn't like phoenix wright. you can't conclude jack shit from any of the investigations in that game. up to this point i was able to at least have some working theory, but this one was just a total fucking nightmare.

it's the best guess i got right now based on the ending of ch.3. i mean he's still clearly makoto, even though what he said while on the liar disease would contradict that. if it's misdirection i'm gonna be frustrated.
still don't like monomi and monokuma apparently being actually autonomous.
also i think i'm going to put the game logic difficulty down to gentle. the nonstop debates are just getting more and more frustrating as the murders get more and more ridiculous.
one last thing, i do actually really love what they've done with the motives. motive 1: kill someone to get your memories back. motives 2 and 3: kills based on getting those memories back. looking forward to see motive 4, not looking forward to solving case 4. maybe i'll just have a guide on hand for all the hangman's gambits and consult it after i fuck up a nonstop debate for the 5th time or something.
I really wanted to like Danganronpa, but that first case and trial were pretty horrible. I haven't been able to work up the desire to play more, if that's the kind of quality I have to look forward to.
like maybe mechanically it's pretty easy but i don't care about that at all, and i found the actual subject of it to be pretty interesting

i'm also worried that chiaki is going to bite it or be biting next. i can hang out with anyone else in our special fruit house except for her. and if she dies well gosh dangit, i've got a real knack for hanging out with the people who die in this game.
on a similar note, i'm pretty sure she's the spy? i have three candidates at this point: me (unwittingly), chiaki, or nagito. nagito i'm really not sure of, because it could work how i said before, but there's enough evidence it's me or chiaki as well. chiaki in particular because she was the one who said hey let's not play the game, hey let's split up, and then didn't need to say hey let's go to the funhouse because i said it first. could just be a coincidence but hmmm!!!

It's annoying when you know something but can't figure out how the game wants you to express it. Like with the dummy nonstop debate. There's about thirty reasons this argument makes no sense, we absolutely shouldn't be having it, and yet I need to find a way to refute absolute nonsense.
anyway terrible illogical bullshit aside, this case is still waaaay better than case 2. Just using a guide for that moronic dummy argument was the way to go.
Now thoughts while I go to class after the intermission in the trial: I don't think its a suicide. The statue with Sakura is meant to make you think of her death, and nagito even specifically mentions the similarities between this and 1 (remember when I said this game was MGS2). But as of the intermission, nagito revealed the ultimate weapon is the funhouse itself. I don't think mechamaru would have needed to use that if he just wanted to kill himself so we could leave. Further, he would have just told someone he was killing himself so this class trial would be over quick, just like Sakura did. So since they tried to disguise it was done in grape house, the killer is probably one of the boys. It's not kaz or nagito, and I don't think its fuyuhiko. Gundham fulfilled his role as a gundam? Or else maybe it's akane she's too unsuspicious.

so many emotions. after chiaki wouldn't hang out with me i decided i'd see what was up with the FOUR DARK DEVAS OF DESTRUCTION. so, for the record, before case 1 i hung out with byakuya. case 2: peko. case 3: nagito and chiaki (score!). case 4: gundham.
i'm not doing too good on picking the survivors in this game.
oh but also, thank YOU nagito for doing the closing argument for me. i hate doing that thing. it's even playing the fun closing argument music
