ICH BIN GROOT is amazing and I can't believe it never occurred to me that he would say those words in the German version.

Dennis wouldn't have been a good choice, but Mac would have actually been a solid candidate for Quill.

What's interesting is just how far out the box they were thinking for GOTG in case it wasn't financially viable.

It does show the kind of risk taking attitude that made the movie a success, I think.

I don't know - I've never seen him do a non-sociopathic role, so I can't say for sure, but the nuance he can give Dennis implies he's got decent chops, just maybe not the right ones.

I think it's more that I wouldn't have been able to take him remotely seriously.

Glenn Howerton should play a Marvel villain

Boomerang from Supierior Foes of Spider-Man would be perfect

It's the Iron Man attitude; they had no idea what to expect, so they were a lot more free with what they had to do, especially with Gunn rewriting the script almost from scratch. I really think Marvel was using GOTG as a buoy to see how to plan Phase 3 and just where the audience would allow them to go (notice how all the rumors started pouring out right after GOTG did well).

Cast some noticeable but not big name people with maybe one A-list (because you want to save the bigger names for other future characters), give them free reign in an area of the MCU that can easily be cut off if it bombs, take all the credit that it went according to plan the day after it breaks August BO records and get yourself a new mistress because it's the big times, baby!

The real guess is how much freedom Gunn has in the sequel, or if they Favreau him. And we can also look to Ant-Man to see what might happen.

Have him purposely do his Mel Gibson accent the whole time, hell yeah bro.

Dennis, Mac, and Charlie are actually the Wrecking Crew, showing up in Thor 3.

nah just have them do Superior foes. I could actually see that working.

Nah, that'd be more of a TV show plot. They should adapt MODOK's 11 instead. With george clooney as MODOK.

    Oh dang.

I could absolutely see Rob McElhenney in that role.

I think Pratt is certainly the better choice but McElhenney could have rocked it p well.

Just got to watch Guardians again, and man it is still so good! I really hope Captain Marvel dips its toes on Cosmic.

Also, I can't wait to see Quill and Danvers interact.

Yeah. I mean, I assume that means the Kree will play a big role in the film, with Carol trapped between her ties to Earth and Hala. In which case I would be stunned if some form of Mar-Vell doesn't put in an appearance.

Nah, trapped between two worlds means earth and that fantasy world Kang's son put her in where she was "nudged" to love him and then gives birth to Marcus and they go live happily ever after.

Not something icky like choosing Earth and some alien world.

can't read that link for some reason, but i'm going to assume it says that Michael Jai White was cast to play Luke Cage? If not, why not?

It was about who the actors were in the running for leads - Krysten Ritter, Alexandra Daddario, Teresa Palmer and Jessica de Gouw for Jessica Jones while Lance Gross and Mike Colter were up for Luke Cage. No actors have been signed yet.

I think I would vote for D'addario, but I'd probably be happy with any of them.

If they're using the Jessica Jones angle of former hero now PI, I'd go with Palmer.

If they're making her more a PI who just happens to work in a world of heroes, it's anyone's game from that list.

Palmer's the best on that list. Though I'd love for Daddario to get in the MCU, expand her range a bit. Spider-Woman?
