He doesn't even drink them! He just knocks them over!

He does the same with his water bowl, which is one of the ones with a tank. He just sits there and splashes water everywhere

So apparently Guardians of the Galaxy came out on digital platforms like Amazon, ITunes and etc on the 18th.

I'm real tempted to buy it now even though I already have the bluray paid for. I mean I could be watching it as we speak.

It's very Burton-y. But I still like it over TDKR minus Bane.

And most of Begins if I'm honest.

tdkr and begins are kinda over-rated

Forever can be frustrating if I try to dissect it and think about how it could be a better movie more in line with Batman and Batman Returns.

If I turn of that assholey part of my brain it is still damn fun watching every single actor gnawing on the scenery at once.

And then Batman & Robin goes fully off the rails.

  • ElderlycrawfishElderlycrawfish Registered User regular
Batman Forever also had that "Holy rusted metal, Batman!" exchange.

I'm still not sure if that's something I really like or really hate though.

swap tdk and batman begins for me

the sole scene of merit in tdk, to me, is the ferry scene

My ordering of the 90's Batman films goes:

Batman and Robin, Batman Forever, who cares about the Tim Burton films.

if there's two things Batman's good at, it's detectiving and fighting, and exactly zero live action Batman films have shown him being good at either of those

Burton's first Batman film had somewhat decent detective/forensic work. But otherwise....yeah.

Batman Returns went way too dark and disturbing with Penguin by having him acting like a savage, biting people's faces, making weird sexual innuendos, and his crazy plan to steal all the babies in the Gotham.

I probably would have enjoyed Batman & Robin on a camp level if they hadn't done the Mr. Freeze origin from the animated series. If they had just made Mr. Freeze the cold themed thief he was before Heart of Ice, it would have been a lot better.

Yeah, Nolan's Batman started out okay but became a character that was completely reactionary and relied almost entirely on yelling and punching.

Mask of the Phantasm remains the best Batman film for a number of reasons.

Although, when you think about it, Batman's detective work in Mask of the Phantasm didn't really have that much of a payoff. The stuff he did to analyze the Phantasm's mist didn't have any impact on the story. Andrea pretty much gave her self away as being the Phantasm. Also, Batman didn't clear his name with the police. No one knew about the Phantasm except for Batman and the Joker.

I think Return of the Joker ended up doing the detective stuff better than all the other films.

the dark knight rises is the best of the trilogy but you have to take it on its own merits, i feel

also i never understand why people complain about the bullet scene

these movies don't take place in a realistic universe of cause and effect. "realism" in the nolan films is purely an aesthetic, the actual narrative is fantastical to the extreme

the fantasy of it doesn't bother me, but it's just needlessly convoluted

like the whole point is to just lure batman into the apartment, right

I don't think that was the jokers plan. Batman being in that room doesn't really help him. Joker just kidnaps this guy and takes his gun because they need guns. Then batman takes a bullet and does whatever he did.

I really wish they'd let Bruce Timm and the DCAU crew make another Batman movie.

Mask of the Phantasm was so gooood.

Return of the Joker was good too, but it was more like a really good quality (and feature-length) episode.

Why do you think that? Because the window flips open? I always figured that was a distraction for all the guys looking out for snipers. Bruce just happened to be there when it went off.
