I've seen so many pictures and videos of a cat wooping on a bear and not getting eaten that I'm starting to think bears have some kind of phobia.
Nah I love cats.
I also respect them (and their claws).

I looked it up. It turns out that black bears (incidentally, I have only ever seen the cat/bear thing occur with black bears), the wild ones that haven't had contact with people anyway, tend to be a bundle of nerves. If you give them an excuse, they will run rather than fight. Meanwhile, when cats get worked up they will fight more or less anything, rather than run. It may also have to do with cats being territorial, while bears generally aren't; a cat who doesn't stand its ground won't have any left, while a bear can just keep ramblin' on.
I also have a theory that cats don't smell like anything bears normally eat, but that a wandering bear is probably curious, and doesn't require much more than a swat to decide there's less painful things to investigate further on down the road; meanwhile domestic cats have lived their whole lives not giving any fucks and aren't about to start for the potential new neighbour.

Hello SnuggleHug thread. It has been 8 months since my last snuggfession (literally, I last checked this thread on page 1.5. So much backlog to go through)
But I managed to snag a picture of the other day of the adorable mutant duck that was born this spring at the lake by our apartment. I don't know what he technically is, hypomelanistic? or something. But he's so pretty.

Actually, none of the cat swaps in those pictures were using claws. Cats rarely do unless they're really scared, they just slap like crazy usually.
Need some stuff designed or printed? I can help with that.
