Think about Resident Evil 1… Think of Sergio Jones playing Albert Wesker in that one, and how everyone talks about how his performance was so horrible.
You know what? He’s a good actor. It sounds horrible because they probably had 300 lines on an Excel sheet, and you have no idea [about the context of the scene, so you] just keep repeating the line.
So it’s like, “Open the door.”
“Let’s just do three different takes on that.”
“Open the door. OPEN the door. Open the DOOR.”
And then some Japanese engineer goes, “I like the rhythm of that last one.”

So Dying Light has been getting really positive impressions from everybody, still waiting on reviews from major sites but overall seems good.
And Grim Fandango also just came out today.
They are both on PC and PS4.. and... I'm torn on which platform to get them on. I have a pretty decent system at the moment so maybe PC would be better for both? Could definitely run at a higher resolution anyway

I still find almost every game with voice acting will still have a couple of lines that completely break the immersion through getting the emphasis wrong, I can only think of The Last of Us that was perfect in this regard.
Considering that people say they get freaked out by Daft Punk videos...
Look, fuck that video for Technologic.
literal babies itt
I mean the same premise taken to the extreme works for five nights at Freddy's 1-3.
I don't actually find the Technologic video scary, definitely creepy though.
I was only joshin ya, the Technologic video is pretty creepy. That's why I think it's so cool though.
Also, I don't know about the new Resident Evil remake but the old Silent Hill games are still pretty great in terms of building atmosphere and tension (fuck those dump truck controls though)
What is the deal with Five Nights at Freddy's? I've heard it's really creepy, but my 5-year-old son's friend was talking about how it didn't scare him at all. Not sure if the kid is full of crap, or if he's a potential psychopath.

It's an interesting and creepy take on the jump scare horror trope that does a pretty good job of building tension and terror.
Let's plays with video of the player playing 5 nights are a great way to see the game in action.

Yeah, I never really saw much atmosphere in Resident Evil, it's primarily jump scares, the atmosphere in Silent Hill is indeed just stellar. That said the crimson heads or whatever in the remake are truly something to be feared.
I have not been a successful DW shadow raid
I am not the one that messes it up though yet I get the blame since I am the one running bags
I really should stop pugging it in that game though
I did a successful DW shadow raid with some pugs before! It was after we'd done a number of successful stealth heists and couple of loud ones as well, so we felt we had a good grasp on each other before anyone suggested it.
Still took a couple hours to do but everyone was in high spirits and when something went wrong we didn't get angry at the player we got angry with the, or more often just laughed it off because sometimes the game just hates you.
It was pretty darn satisfying, I just wish that a guard hadn't bugged out stationary in such a way that we couldn't secure 16 bags total. But we did get the armor!
I don't know where to talk about this but apparently Dragon's Dogma Online is a thing that is happening and i don't understand it but holy shit i'm excited.

I know the conversation has moved on, but that's clearly a tankless toilet. The tank is just hidden behind the wall.

I want to say they were talking about it in the indie games thread?
Though I'm getting all sorts of threads confused with each other these days

I've never played it before really.
I forgot it was getting the re-release this month.
But apparently isn't, at least not in its current state

Not directed at you at all, I made a hat joke too, because it's funny. It's just that everyone is doing it.

you can expect that any news that slightly concerns an SE++ thread will show up there eventually
for example, we talk about video games in this thread, and dragon's dogma is a video game
