CS problem

Counter Strike 1.6 stops loading when I try joining a server, it just stops at 'precaching game info' I find this wierd since I was playing fine last night but now it doesn't work, although CZ works just fine. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

    The typical fix for CS is to try deleting or moving your ClientRegistry.blob file (which will possibly clear your custom settings and such) but also fixes many many problems. It's voodoo but I've had it work on a number of occasions. I believe there's also an option in the steam client to defrag your client files (not the same as defragging your hard drive).
