Dragon's Dogma Online.... Free to Play... dammit, Capcom.
Re Vanquish: I haven't played it in a while, but I just remember it being badass. Sliding around blasting the shit outta mooks in slow mo, and then taking a smoke break behind cover while enemies shoot at you and blow chunks out of the cover. Then he just flicks the cigarette away and you get back to bidness.
Nope. PS4/PS3/PC. There's some details and a scan in the Dragon's Dogma thread.
Does anyone have Need For Speed Rivals perchance? I got it on the sale and my friend and I have been having a lot of fun fooling around with it, but it would always be better with some more arcadians in it.
Anyway if you have it, let me know!
@TheRoadVirus I do have Need For Speed Rivals, though I've been mostly playing Destiny lately. Would be great to play either! PS4 id is Boozer_777
School me on Vanquish, because I couldn't get the hang of it. What's the point of being able to improve your weapons, if you lose those improvements when you try to replay a level?
The way to play Vanquish is to not play it like a Cover Shooter because it isn't one. Slide everywhere. Get in people's faces.
I was running and gunning, but still taking lots of damage. Also, that slide move overheats pretty quickly.
Did they ever teach you about the smoking thing in Vanquish? I played through that game and had a lot of fun but realize whenever someone talks about it that I never did that.

Everyone has a price. Throw enough gold around and someone will risk disintegration.
Thread title could use an update now that the 10% promo is over, @Unco-ordinated. I'm sure someone can come up with something witty.
Ah, you're right. No need for something witty though, I'll just throw in the games that should be coming out today in it. It's nice being lazy like that.

So, it occurs to me that I forgot to post the Drop this week, but I have an extensively shitty weekend, so it was the last thing on my mind. Sorry!
Anyway, it's a pretty good week. The first episode of Dontnod's second experiment, Life Is Strange, releases this Friday for PS4 and PS3 accompanied by demos for each platform, or so they say. The PS4 also sees Dying Light (also in "Ultimate Edition" flavor) alongside Grim Fandango Remastered. PS4 owners aren't the only ones who get to experience it, however, as it releases on Vita as well, with Cross-Buy between the versions. And finally, the Vita also sees Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 2 as well as Nihilumbra which I have no idea what that is.
Combine that with a decent sale featuring a selection of EA pieces and Bethesda pieces and it's not a bad week, all told.
...so I bought Suikoden I&II with the code yesterday. I have an email receipt. But they're not in my DL list. Going to them on the store, it has the Add To Cart button instead of the Download button. Clicking it says I cannot buy or download this item. Awesome.
This sounds like what happened to me ~2 weeks ago. When I called in for a fix they were quick to give me a refund but didn't seem to care about fixing the root problem. A couple days after the call I noticed that I was able to add the game to my cart again.
If you get to the same point and don't mind keeping the money in your PSN wallet I'd suggest accepting the refund to the wallet. I opted for the credit card option and am still waiting.
Weirdly, I logged out and back in and I was able to DL them just fine. I will note that Suikoden II won't let you transfer from PS3 to Vita, but you can just DL it on the Vita.

For whatever reason, in a browser, the EA sale includes Army of Two: 40th Day, and Syndicate, but both are marked as disc only and you can't actually buy them.
Weird.
Looking forward to Life Is Strange. just finished Remember me, and though I was worried because of the mixed reception it seemed to get I really enjoyed it. Can't wait to see what Dontnod have coming next.

Strange. When I had bought it on release day, I could only DL it onto my PS3 and transfer it to my Vita from there. It wasn't listed as available on the Vita at that time, even though it was released.
The Spotify deal is awesome news. Nice move, Sony!
Battlefield 4 is definitely worth $13.99. I went for the Premium deal, which seemed worth the extra for all the maps. Mostly I've been playing Team Deathmatch, the infantry only mode. It's far less twitchy and more team-focused than Call of Duty, and doesn't have dumb killstreak rewards.

PS4 still isn't selling that well in Japan, PC is nearly non-existent in Japan. There's no way this gets released not to the west. Just isn't going to happen.

I went premium as well and have been surprised how much I am enjoying it. I'm certainly glad I went premium, as there's a ton of value in those extra maps. I probably won't jump on the next Battlefield bandwagon until it goes on sale a year or two down the road, but it is nice to play BF4 as a polished final product.
I'm mostly playing Conquest, as its the meatiest part of the game. Even as a single player who isn't teaming up with anyone in particular, I can get a lot out of playing the objectives and enjoying those moments when my squad and I are operating in tandem - issuing orders, backing each other up and generally acting as a squad. It's interesting how much interaction you can get from the system, even without a mic.
I would never recommend Battlefield 4. But that's just out of spite... I was one of the unfortunate souls who bought that broken garbage at launch. Maybe it's petty, but whatevs. Eff that game.
