@rhylith sadly I didn't make it to the inaugural PAX south, but this year I'm trying this new thing called "budgeting" and I've been told it should insure that, at some future date, I have funds to do fun things.

If I skipped you, be assured that my opinion of you is that you’re a cool person who I like and respect.

@Munkus Beaver – You’ve been dealt a kind of shitty hand in life, health-wise. I hope that someday you’ll find your way out of that mess, or that it at least becomes easier to deal with for you.

@Raijin Quickfoot – You’re super rad, and your kids seem rad too. I’m also tremendously jealous of your ability to actually grow facial hair. I mean, I can too, but I think to define what I get as ‘facial hair’ is an insult to those that actually grow something worthwhile.

@Fyndir – I haven’t interacted with you a whole ton in recent days, but every time you post I’m thinking “Yeah, his opinion is probably worth considering.”

@FAQ – You’ll always be a horrific porkpie-hat wearing old man to me. Or maybe a demented stretched-out gnome person. I appreciated that you were always willing to let me do tremendously dumb or creepy things with your Sims characters.

@Odin – Every time I see a picture of you I think “Why is this male model posting here? Is this some kind of secret torture method to make everyone jealous that we don’t look as good as you?” Then I write a sci-fi novel where everyone DOES look like you, and it’s out this November.

@Chincymcchilla – Motherfucker you got some opinions. I think this was my opinion of you last time. That said, you at least aren’t super dickish about it, and you are willing to at least back down if you realize you’re being unreasonable or ridiculous. It’d be neat to hang out with you sometime.

@Peter Ebel – A commonality you and I share is an appreciation for Nick Cave. You used to be a grumpy kinda guy, but seem to have gotten a bit softer in recent years. Maybe I’m reading you wrong, and maybe I’m just bad at paying attention. I think it’s a good thing, though!

@Langly – Dadbrosdadbrosdadbros! Granted you were a dad a while before me so I’m like… a junior dadbro or something. Anyway, I feel like we should interact more than we actually do but… You’re a cool guy.

@Brolo – Man, you are one of the forumers I’ve wanted to hang out with for years! What’s up with you being in Canada and far away? You’re a hilarious dude and I’m happy I managed to get you for Secret Satans one year. It was a lot of fun picking gifts for ya, and I hope the porn wasn’t too, uh, unwelcome? I mean I feel slightly awkward now remembering that I sent you “Gay Sex! The Card Game” but yeah.

@Grey Ghost – Also on the list of ‘people I want to hang out with’. I feel weird admitting I only really… noticed you in the past year or so? That sounds terribly offensive. You’ve almost always got something clever to say in the forums, and I’m happy for you that you managed to, well, shake off that one lady that you realized was just unhealthy for you? That’s a cool thing to do for yourself.

@Johnham – The few times I’ve actually skyped with you when I did Games Witticism were always a delight. I wish I had the time or inclination to do that sort of thing these days, but avoiding spending money and trying to concentrate on school and family kind of limit that thing.

@Anzekay – I know you as being a fellow appreciator of board games, and that alone earned you my ETERNAL RESPECT. But seriously, you’re cool, and I think you’re the guy that I see on Facebook occasionally doing stuff like having an enormous game of Twilight Imperium, which simultaneously earns my ETERNAL JEALOUSY (because I really want to play that game) and ETERNAL TERROR (because seriously that must have taken all day to play).

@YaYa – YOU HATED FORGETTING SARAH MARSHALL YOU SON OF A BITCH. But in the grand scheme of things that’s really not the worst, or even close to it. I’d love to hang out sometime. You’re in LA or something, right?

@Metalbourne – I appreciate that you regularly bring around the trans threads, because I always learn a ton from them. I tend to not contribute more than silly (and hopefully) inoffensive jokes because being a cisgendered white male, any perspective I offer I feel is something that’s either idiotically obvious (“dang, trans people have it hard, huh?”) or tremendously ignorant (“uh one time someone was mean to me so that obviously means that there’s sexism against men”). Of course I would never say the second one because holy crap I’d have to be a total moron to actually say that, but you get the idea. On a more personal note, I appreciate that you’re willing to be open about your kinks and adventures in that area, because even though I always go “Man I do not see how that is enjoyable” I also go “But I guess it is for her, so whatever.” I’m glad you got out of that abusive relationship, but I know you’re finding yourself in tough times now so I hope you can get yourself better. If you ever find yourself in San Jose for some godforsaken reason it’d be rad to hang out!

@DaMoonRulz – Dude. Duuude! You’re one of the most generous, coolest guys here, someone who sent Anya nice stuff without expecting a dang thing in return. I hope those cookies served you well, and I’m sorry if I worried you when I vanished for a couple months there.

@fightinfilipino – I’m glad you can put up with my insane babble about law stuff. It was a lot of fun talking to you about it when we met up in SF some months back! Sometime we need to hang out in an area that’s a bit quieter and more sedate. I’m thinking boardgame night. But I’m always thinking boardgame night.

@Uriel – I think you’re far, far harder on yourself than you ever deserve. You spoke recently about how bad you feel about joining in on making fun of your brother years ago, but what that really shows to me is how much you’ve grown as a person – I mean, at least you realize you did a messed-up thing, right? You’re one of those people that I remember from the old days and I’m still glad to see ya around.

@Stilts – I always wish I could join in on one of those Roll For Your Lives things, but sadly I can’t find the time to do things these days. Games Witticism was a delight, and I wish I was still able to do that, even if I didn’t really have anything particularly insightful to add most of the time.

@Brogey – You and Nads have the dubious honors of being the first ‘forumers I wanted to hang out with’. I don’t know how much that means, but when I finally get to meet you two it was all I had hoped for and more. Sometime we’ll have to come down with Anya and our new kid and we’ll all do… something.

@Usagi – I always wanted to meet you, and when I finally did last winter, I was like “Yep, she’s exactly what I expected.” Which is to say, totally badass and cool.

@tynic – We used to interact a lot more on the forums than we do these days. Still, I find you to be one of the most consistently clever and entertaining people here.

@ThatDudeOverThere – TEEEDOT. You really like MOBAs, huh? Or at least Smite. That’s what I have to contribute. Plus you always seem to be a good sport about being made fun of. Ashamedly, I only realized who you were on Facebook a few months ago, buut… Hey, I know who you are NOW, right?

@ASimPerson – I cannot believe that we have lived in the same city for years and still have not met at all. Granted, I am a tremendously boring person, so my biggest idea of partytime is ‘let’s play a boardgame together’, but I’ll repeat what I’ve said the past few years and say maybe we should hang out sometime???

@Vivixenne – Viv, you’re the person I go to if I feel I need some straight-ass talk about a situation. I know I can talk to you not only because I know you’ll have some good insight into whatever I need help with, but you’ll be flat-out honest about it, which is greatly appreciated. Plus the guy you married seems like a decent choice. I guess. I GUESS.

@Abracadaniel – You’re basically my go-to guy when I have questions about coffee or technology. I also appreciate your puns. Your terrible, terrible puns.

@Javen – I still feel kinda bad that the one time I met you at PAX we chatted for maybe five minutes and then I never saw you again. Sometime we’ll have to rectify that.

@Dubh – Girl, you know I think you’re rad. I’m happy that you’re finishing school soon and excited for your future job prospects. I’m sorry we don’t get to hang out more often, but everything is insane all the time always. Trust me, DE?AD lives in the same damn city as me and we get to see him maybe once every 2-3 months.

@Bendery It Like Beckham – I’ll always be honored by the fact that you up and came to my wedding. Also you slept in my house, so that’s something too. But seriously, it was really cool hanging out with ya then, and maybe we’ll see each other in the future too!

@The Geek – You’ve always made a real effort to hang out with people when they show up for PAX and such. It was a lot of fun going out to laser tag that one PAX, and going to your birthday party last winter. Plus your dog is pretty cool.

@Sheri – I’m pretty jelly of your various talents – crochet, photography, among other things! Someday I’ll have a skill worth talking about… someday…

@Blake T – I’m always secure in the thought that if I haven’t made a terrible pun about something on someone’s facebook status, you’ve probably picked up the slack, usually several times over. I’ve met your wife, and she’s real cool. Now when am I gonna meet you?

@Lost Salient – Every time you post pictures of your travels or the food you’re eating I think god DAMN that looks fun or delicious. You recommended a cookbook to me a while ago and I’ve been racking my brain ever since to try and remember what it is.

@Fishman – Duuude. Duuuude. Remember when you stayed at my house? Remember when we rode bikes in San Francisco, and the tire on my bike broke, so we walked bikes all the way to Sausalito and oh god my feet hurt just thinking about it. But really, that was actually a ton of fun, just walking and talking, and even though it hurt a LOT that day, it sure makes for a great story. One of these days our kids are going to meet and maybe they’ll get married and have kids of their own and make PERFECT CHILDREN okay I should stop writing forum fanfiction now.

@Tonkka – FOODSERVICE BROS. Although I’m not really looking into food service as a career anymore, I appreciate the few times we’ve commiserated together on how fucking ridiculous this job is.

@Rankenphile – Rank, you are a cool motherfucker. I mean that earnestly and I mean that honestly. Also you’re a giant fucking nerd, I mean that the same way. You’re seriously like my cool internet big brother, that kind of guy I can tell people stories about like “This guy got a tattoo of dickbutt on his ass.”. I look back on that day we all hung out in Santa Cruz with severe fondness.

@Beavotron – Jeez, how’d you get so talented? Ever since I saw your art I always figured you’d find success. And look at you – working at a game company, adopting dogs… You’re living the dream. Plus we have the same name (more or less).

If anyone feels like they wanna opine on me, feel free. Otherwise I'll just assume you think I'm a stank-ass nerd (you assume correctly, btw).

I'm pretty bad with visual stuff, so I may have left people off or skipped people I think are cool if an avatar's changed recently. In which case I apologize. But you know what? You're all great. This forum is great. I'm generally super super cautious online, but you guys made me feel comfortable right off the bat. I mean, I actually posted a picture or two of myself, which would have been unthinkable anywhere else.

So thanks everybody for being awesome.
@Munkus Beaver - Your ability to organize threads like this amazes me. I really admire the amount of time and effort you dedicate to this place.

@Raijin Quickfoot - I really appreciating you and everybody else tolerating my occasional posts in the Parenting/kids thread. Also, your sons are adorable.

@Fyndir - I think of you specifically as the guy who saw another poster was having financial issues and then went and immediately bought everything on their wishlist because you could. That was pretty awesome of you.

@Odin - The only thing I know about you is that you're the resident attractive male. Sorry.

@Brainleech - You and everybody else at the webcomic thread put up with my obsessive over analysis of pointless webcomics, which I truly appreciate. Plus, you guys introduced me to like half the webcomics I currently follow, which is pretty awesome. So thanks!

@Bobkins Flymo - You changed your avatar recently and now I can't tell you apart from one of the other mods here. Or I've thought you were two people. Either way, both of you (or just you?) seem pretty great.

@Crwth - You post on the webcomic thread and don't snap at me for getting overly analytical, and I appreciate that.

@Psykoma - I don't know why, but I only just realized that's a cat in your avatar. Also, you seem to have good fashion sense.

@Metalbourne - The first person I've ever talked to who is also anosmic and I've known is anosmic. Which is pretty cool.

@DaMoonRulz - I really enjoy the bird jokes you make about my avatar.

@Usagi - The only times I've interacted with you have been when there's a Feminism thread, but just from that I can tell you're awesome.

@tynic - You've got great fashion sense and a cute avatar.

@Dubh - A fellow historian! I hope things go well for you after you graduate.

@Sheri - You do awesome things with yarn and I can't want to see what you post in the Crafts thread next.

@Vivixenne - Your avatar is completely adorable and every single one of your posts I've read has been 100% on-point.

@Goatmon - I don't think we really talk directly all that much, but we seem to agree with each other a lot. Also, for some reason I keep mixing you up with Pony in my head.

When people change their avatars it totally throws me through a loop and my brain starts treating them as a separate person. It's a combination of dyslexia and having the visual memory of a goldfish.

If it wasn't for the "Mod" badge next to your and Whippy's avatars, I'd probably be getting you, Whippy, and Goatmon confused because all three of you changed your avatars at some point within the last two months. And honestly, I only just realized Goatmon wasn't a new poster two days ago. It's that bad.
