if ayn rand was the immortal iron fist I might have watched those awful atlas shrugged movies.

It's about time the MCU had a hero like a thing unto iron... Punching the homeless. or something, I guess. I don't really know. Objectivism makes no sense to me and is a failure even in the dystopian sci fi world created specifically for it to succeed.

Eh, I felt he sufficiantly explained his position on why he was doing that.

He used a lot of words, but ultimately his thesis was not supported sufficiently. Tony Stark is very much driven by ego and hostile to government oversight and control, but he is only selfish in his personal life. His superheroics aren't at all compatible with Randian philosophy, and he didn't bridge that gap. If anything, Tony's character arc is all about becoming less selfish and growing into being a hero, which is the exact opposite of a Randian character arc.

He isn't even hostile to government oversight, he just has a very small number of people he trusts. One of them is part of government oversight.

Virtually any philosophy is absurd when it's taken to the extreme.

Most philosophers just don't tend to write an enormous novel to try and illustrate their point taken to the extreme.

They also put up the 'lifting the hammer' scene, but you've seen most of it.

Stan Lee wrote the opposite of what he was drawing Peter to do in the comics. For example, Ditko had Pete yelling at anti-war protesters and Stan would write him supporting them.

NO! You must watch all these clips and then get mad at Marvel for putting out too much stuff even though no one made you do anything! It's the Internet's way!

    Regarding the party scene clip:
I much like Tony's new quote when he first tries to lift the hammer. I did like, "I will be firm but fairly cruel" but it was awkward.,"I will be reinstituing Prima Nocta," however, is right up there with, "I was doing a little number for Vanity Fair."

    It's a pretty great line.

Let the speculation begin: EW has learned that Oscar-winning writer-producer John Ridley (12 Years a Slave) is teaming up with Marvel to develop a mysterious new TV series.

We hear the deal involves reinventing an existing Marvel superhero character or property for ABC—but all sides are staying quiet on exactly which title Ridley is adapting.

This comes on the heels of EW breaking the news that Marvel and ABC are also developing a spinoff series to The Avengers tie-in Agents of SHIELD.

Ridley is an executive producer of ABC’s acclaimed midseason drama American Crime, which we hear is looking good for a second season renewal. Coming off winning best adapted screenplay for 12 Years a Slave, Ridley is also a writer/producer on the 2016 big-screen update of Ben Hur.

Marvel’s aggressive expansion into television now includes four current series (ABC’s SHIELD, Agent Carter—which is on the bubble for a pickup—and Netflix’s Daredevil), plus several confirmed upcoming titles (Netflix’s A.K.A. Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist, followed by the Netflix character mash-up The Defenders). Neither Marvel nor ABC would comment on the Ridley project.

How is SHIELD, Agent Carter and Daredevil "four current series?"

Unless they're using the British version of "series"

He can have a smaller role, and they can change his schedule when appropriate. It isn't impossible.
