There were a couple episodes in the attitude era, though unfortunately I don't remember specifically when, but post-career ending injury and wrestlemania match against stone cold they brought Shawn onto the commentary team and said he was a permanent addition and then the next week he only came out for the main event and then the week after that it was back to normal and never mentioned again
