"Log 10.957.2

Confidence is high regarding Phazon applications. We know enough about Phazon now to begin combining it with Space Pirate DNA. The code name for this venture will be 'Project Helix'. Preliminary studies indicate that Phazon infusion could produce radical new Pirate genomes. Benevolent mutation levels are high in current test subjects. Phazon madness is a concern, but refinements in the infusion process should reduce or neutralize the odds of mental degeneration."

"Log 11.001.9

Initial Project Helix experiments with Space Pirate embryos were disastrous. The Phazon-infusion process degenerated brain tissue even as it augmented muscle mass. None of what we have termed 'Elite Pirates' lived to maturity: the few that survived their infanthood suffered severe psychotic breakdowns as juveniles, killing anything within their zone of perception. Research from team Sclera made a recent breakthrough, in which parasite studies with a Phazon strain code-named 'Vertigo' were highly successful. Since then, we have fused Vertigo Phazon with Space Pirate DNA with great success. The latest batch of Elite Pirates have reached maturity successfully and are ready for field testing and training."

Science Team is attempting to reverse-engineer Samus Aran's arsenal, based off data acquired from her assaults on our forces. Progress is slow, but steady. Command would dearly enjoy turning Aran's weapons against her. We believe we can implement Beam weapon prototypes in three cycles. Aran's Power Suit technology remains a mystery, especially the curious Morph Ball function. All attempts at duplicating it have ended in disaster; four test subjects were horribly broken and twisted when they engaged our Morph Ball prototypes. Science Team wisely decided to move on afterward."

"Metroid Handling Protocols, 07.202.02
Metroids are not pets. Metroids are not for target practice. Finally, unauthorized feeding of Metroids is still strictly prohibited."

What’s all this now?

This is a regular game for 40+ people.

General rules of Phalla can be found here. New players are welcome as are old of course.

Specific rules can be found below:

Standard Phalla Rules/Mechanics:

You must vote each day. Vote in bold red for whomever you think is likely to be a threat to you. The winner of the vote will be eliminated every night. Tie votes will kill both people involved. Be careful.

In addition, everyone should make at least two posts each day. Failure to vote or contribute will lead to warning and replacement.

Do not directly quote anything from PMs with me, or take screenshots of them. It is okay to paraphrase role PMs however.

Do not add other players to PM conversations.

Do not anonymously contact anyone.

When you die you may make one ghost post which cannot contain any game information whatsoever. After that please do not discuss the game with anyone still alive.

Ask for clarifications in Bold DarkOrange. You can always PM me with clarification requests, or post them directly in the thread. If you have questions about your role you should probably use the PM method to avoid giving away info to the other players. They are *already* suspicious of you.

Make sure you invite me to any PMs or proboards you might form.

Order of actions:

Vote > Quickened Roleblocks> Quickened Guards> Quickened Attacks> Quickened Heals > Quickened ???> Roleblocks > Guards > Attacks > Heals> ??? > Slowed Roleblocks > Slowed Guards> Slowed Attacks> Slowed Heals> Slowed ???> Seer

Votes and orders turned in at :59 and earlier will count, those made on the minute of vote close and later will not.

Signup in bold limegreen

Special Notes from Science Team:

This game uses a hit point system.
If your hit points are lowered to 0 or below at the end of the action block you may die.
There may be ways to recover hit points.
There may be an unstable substance you can come into contact with which may give you incredible powers or kill you.
Metroids are not pets.
In fact there may not even be any Metroids at all.
Containment Tubes are not to be used for recreational purposes.
Test subjects represent a lot of work, please do not terminate them.
Test subjects have killed many researchers, please try not to terminate them.

Example Roles:
You are...

Pirate Militia

You were conscripted and pushed to the forefront of this mess. They didn’t train you or give you a gun. You can’t help but notice that your superiors are constantly shoving you in front of them. Science team claims they injected you with a super soldier serum, but you don’t feel very strong.

Life: 40

Actions: You may use one per night:
Pirate Shield - You may take all blows aimed at a target and point them at yourself.

Win condition: Eliminate all threats to the planet.
You are...

a Wavetrooper

Elite pirates, equipped with an experimental reverse-engineered wave gun. Certain adaptations to the normal armor had to be made in-order to equip Troopers with reverse-engineered weapons. These adaptations leave the troopers critically vulnerable to their own weaponry, but Science Team reminds Troopers that no one else knows this and it will be corrected shortly anyways.

Life: 50

Passive: Electric Vulnerability

Actions: You may use one per night:
Wave Beam - Fire a beam of electricity that hits two targets for 7 damage and causes them to drop any held items.

Win condition: Eliminate all threats to the planet.
You are...

a Pulse Bombu

The Pulse Bombu is a creature that consists entirely of raw electricity. It glows as it floats through the air. It periodically releases explosive segments from its body and lacks any intelligence other than an instinctive attraction to charged energy sources.

Life: 5

Passive: Electric Vulnerability
Passive: Immune to non Electric Damage

Actions: You may use one per night:
Explosive Segment - Sacrifice one life to drop an explosive segment on your target for 50 damage.

Win condition: Destroy all Wave beam users.

Clarifications:
the order of operations has a quickened thing. I assume someone can quicken other people if someone can slow people. That's not the question. Anyway!

If someone were to be able to quicken someone, what would happen if they quickened a frozen person?

Quickening will cancel with anything that causes slow status, but will be overwritten by freeze.

Will we be told when a faction is eliminated. For instance, metroids?

Yes, CD.
