Fett was fed to the sarlacc. For all intents and purposes he was considered dead and being digested for the next thousand years or so, until someone decided that he had escaped.
Thrawn was stabbed in the chest by a Noghri.
Bevel was still killed and brought back to life.

I'm not sure how these counter my original point that, in Star Wars (and numerous other IPs that are written by multiple authors), dead (or presumed dead) bad guys have a tendency to come back when an author wants them to. More so when said bad guys have names.

That's going to be interesting to see with the new Fett movie coming out if they decide to resurrect him in the new films.

Check out this awesome character who dies like a punk later in his career isn't the best selling point for an action franchise.

    You'd think so.

And yet, Boba Fett is ridiculously popular among Star Wars fans.

    I really don't get it.

Boba Fett is kinda like the human version of the deathstar.

Super-badass killing machine taken out like a chump because of a design flaw in the exhaust port.

Oh I know, I'm just saying it wouldn't surprise me if they change that with the new stand alone film coming out. He could be in the background of a scene and that would be enough for some. FETT LIVES or somesuch.

And here's the weird thing: now that all the weird Fandalorian crap has been jettisoned like so much trash from a Star Destroyer (along with the rest of the Legends continuity) from canon, I would, weirdly, be entirely down with Fett getting a movie where he comes back like a bat out of hell and wrecks a whole bunch of faces.

EDIT: But it would have to be done well. Like, he needs to have scars, and not just physical ones. Claustrophobia would be an entirely logical fear to pick up, and an interesting one for someone who habitually wears a helmet with full face mask...

I watched the special edition of The Empire Strikes Back a couple of days ago and unlike the other two films the changes to this one are quite organic and hard to spot. Aside from Boba Fett's voice change. However, I can't even remember what he used to sound like.

I think the question we need to ask is does the armor and half-cape make a badass? Or is it just that the person knows they're badass enough to pull off the armor/halfcape look?

Lando doesn't even need the armor. The capeis all that is needed. If Lando ever wore armor, the sheer concentrated badass would have the destructive power of the death star's main laser!

The Cult of Fett was made because he said little, looked cool and did little in 1980. This was also the rise of the anti hero.
But with what little came out in books and comics helped the cult of fett

I feel that the clones are made from Jango Fett and Boba is an unaltered clone was made to destroy the cult of Fett

I don't like the Fett stories where he's like, the new Mandalorian boss or whatever, and trains people to fight Jedi and is totally unbeatable and stuff
I really like the ones where he's just a guy who's good at bounty hunting and doesn't really give a rip about any of that other stuff

Star Wars needs more characters that are just competent, driven individuals making it in a wild-west-like space society and fewer wizard samurai, royalty and best-_____-in-the-galaxys.

I'm not sure I dig him even being an actual Mandalorian, though
I like his old backstory where he basically used to be a space cop who was too much of a loose cannon and just got his hands on a set of the armor

In fact I kinda liked not having established exactly who the Mandalorians are or what their society is like

    Suckers and chumps.

Cool guys can betray their friends with a smile and a sweet mustache, then get forgiven, because how can you stay mad at a guy as cool as Lando?

He probably would have liked some neck armor shortly afterwards though.
Just saying, when your friend's best friend is a wookiee, maybe look into some armor before the backstabbery commences.

It's been a while since I watched ESB, but wasn't his reason pretty much "Vader got here first, and they don't even want you, you're just bait...sooo...we're cool, right?"?

I think Lando's thing was supposed to be, he was supposedly giving them hints when they first landed in the way he acted/spoke. He didn't really have any choice, since it was basically give Vader what he wanted or the empire destroys cloud city.

In the cartoon, the new Mandalorian royalty tries, very unsuccessfully, to rid itself of its warrior culture past. Basically the Dutchess is a terrible leader with good intentions. She's shown to have no political sense beyond blind idealism and a fundamental inability to compromise.
It gets her killed, and Mandalore goes back to business as usual.

That's more or less what happens in the 'What if?'-themed Infinities mini-series for ESB.
In this timeline, Luke dies on Hoth but gives a message to Han beforehand making him think he has the potential to be a Jedi. So the Falcon only stays long enough to get fixed so it can go to Daghobah. And when Boba shows up, he doesn't mention whom he's currently working for besides Jabba, so...
