What is the logic behind the weaknesses of the more esoteric pokemon e.g dragon, dark, fairy.

For example: fire is weak to water because water douses fires. Why is dragon weak to ice?

dragons breathe fire! so ice...makes them sad.

steel is mythically strong against fairies (well iron but close enough)

I assume the idea is that dragons and fairies are both magical sorts of creatures so the fairies can dunk on them

the only thing I have for poison being strong against fairies is that poison is often...in fairy tales?

I like the psychic weaknesses once I figured out the logic. Bugs, dark and ghosts. Scary things that throw your mind off its game.

I assumed dragons were weak to ice because they are cold blooded and it would make them sleepy. Faeries are strong because magic, and in dark vs. faerie, faeries represent goodness and dark evil

hold on melding I got this ahem

dragons are weak to ice because they're reptiles and thus cold blooded so they can't deal with cold
dragons are weak to dragons cause only a dragon can mess with a dragon
dragons are weak to fairies because a tiny little fairy can evade that great hulking beast and cast spells to pierce its scales

dark is weak to fighting because their unbalanced darkness cannot stand up to the focused will of a martial artist
dark is weak to bug because bugs have no conception of good and evil and aren't intimidated by them
dark is weak to fairy because the forces of cuteness always prevail against the forces of darkness

fairy is weak to poison because that fairy tale crap has no place in the modern industrialized world
fairy is weak to steel because fairies are mythologically weak to cold iron

Fairy Pokemon should be weak to people not believing in them.

Someone throws down a fairy type and I just start packing up my things, getting ready to leave. "Well, I guess they are out of Pokemon and I win. Time to collect my money and go."

I believe that dark translates to something more akin to underhanded in Japanese, so fighting is effective because an honourable fighter beats an unhonourable cut throat

Dragons are weak to ice because they breathe fire, so introducing extreme cold to their internal extreme heat has explosive results.

But mostly they don't use fire attacks. They COULD, but they don't. They use Dragon attacks, which are beams and shit. Dragon doesn't really make sense as a type to be hoenst.

Tell that to Charizard, who is definitely a legitimate dragon compared to whatever the hell Dragonite is.
I forget if Fire is weak to Ice in Pokemon Red but eh.

Jesus FUCK, Melding when did you turn evil?

Chris I'm sorry to tell you this but your opinions on cars really suck.

Out of all the American car brands, Chrysler has the spottiest record for shitty cars/non shitty cars.

If I add in some of Chrysler Australias better models like the Valiant and the Charger then they manage to squeak in front of AMC, but only just.

Where should I start this excellent adventure?

Melding I recently bought a cloak of invisibility. The good kind that relies on dimensional transference rather than optical redirection because I have a problem with people with infravision being able to spot me. The only problem is that any time I wear it I start seeing unspeakable horrors. Should I be worried?

Nah, they were always there. Just now you can see them, they could always see you.

Dragon being weak to ice is probably somethign to do with dinosaurs dyign to the ice age. Dark being immune to psychic is because dark is also evil which invokes fear and fear is the mind killer. Fairy being strong to dark is because child like hope defeating evil?

Ice is good against flying because birds are royally fucked if their wings ice up. It adds weight and they crash into the ground in a horrible manner.

Dark is good against ghosts because dark pokemon are too spooky for the ghosts to handle
