I don't have anything tied to my Sony account, but if I went out and bought RB1/2/3 would their songs transfer over? I vaguely remember some sort of import thing.
Also will DLC for previous games be purchasable in RB4 or should I go grab a cheap copy of 3and get buying

I'm not even like, a fan of the band or anything, but the song I'm most hype for is Tongue Tied by Grouplove. That'd be fun as hell to sing.

Went through the DLC list and made my picks for song, gonna have to trim it cause I only have 40 bucks to spend on em but I made it with stuff my friends like and would be good at parties in mind so I can trim a bit I'm sure

AFAIK there's no way to get the songs from RB1&2 if you don't already have them at this point. Licenses expired, etc. Also I'm pretty sure the DLC from previous games will be available in RB4. They've been touting 1500 songs on day one so that's the conclusion I'm drawing.
Welp just spent like 40 bucks (mostly in PSN credit I had) on DLC songs
I absolutely love Rock Band but my biggest issue with the past games, which is totally due to me being lazy and not buying DLC, is that in going for as wide a net as possible with their songs (which is totally the smart move don't get me wrong) there were only about 10-15 songs per game that I really really liked and they got overplayed real quick
With the songs from this game and the songs from RB1 and the 35 DLC songs I'm looking at like 60-70 songs I dig a whole bunch
Anarchy Club "Blood Doll"

The Wild Feathers – Backwoods Company
Wet Hot American Summer has ensured that I will play the hell out of that Jefferson Starship song
While I prefer the Rock Band full band experience - the no PC/Wii U version has me settling for Guitar Hero. The positive side of that is I really like the setlist for GH this time...and the lack of "That Smell" is a nice bonus as well.
It would solely be for the gameplay, because the new guitar sounds really interesting
Like for Rock Band I'm almost exclusively excited about the drums and vocals, I have kinda burned out on guitar/bass after 5 straight years of inhaling guitar games
GH Live sounds like the twist on the gameplay I could really get into
Buuuuuuuut everything else about that game kinda makes my skin crawl
I think Rock Band's custom solo stuff sounds really fun and is probably the main hook for that part of the game for me. It is kind of a bummer that the bass hasn't really gotten anything new, though.

Me too! Part of it is that I actually have folks to play it with this time.

Gimme this game now please
It still doesn't feel real yet
30 songs you get with any preorder
and 12 leaked DLC songs
Wet Hot American Summer has ensured that I will play the hell out of that Jefferson Starship song
My Own Eyes is the best Foo Fighters song they could add to Rock Band at this point though.

If only there was a rock band stage featuring a single mom trying to keep it from raining so she could go on a picnic with her children.

it's even better when you're actually in the game and have headphones cranked up
I also imported it because I am the biggest goddamn nerd and despite not knowing a lick of Japanese, *had* to have the game in high school.
I refuse to play it on my 3DS though because I just know I'll ruin the screen playing Ready Steady Go...

U2 is in Rock Band for the first time
"I Will Follow" and "Cedarwood Road" are both in the game, and more songs will be coming later as DLC
So there will be at least U2 and Van Halen packs coming
It would solely be for the gameplay, because the new guitar sounds really interesting

SO EXCITED FOR ROCK BAND 4 YOU GUYS
Also excited at the prospect of U2 DLC
I look forward to logging on next Tuesday and seeing just how much of my old DLC I can redownload
