Also just imagine I posted pictures of Sonic 1, 2, CD, Colors, Generations, and half of a picture of Unleahsed here cause I don't want this OP to be hugenormous.
Course if you don't like playing as a hedgehog you could be a big gorilla with a shit eating grin or the annoying little bastard he hangs out with.
Maybe playing as animals doesn't do it for you? How about a knight? I hear that dick with the mask and the potions is going to be playable soon.
That glory hog plumber has already got his own thread over here, and the bear and bird are throwing some kind of block party for their Rare friends over here.

For real tho if you want to play a decent Sonic game check out after the sequel by the guy who went on to do Freedom Planet
it's set between 2 and 3, and has pretty amazing music/cool levels

Nope. Love every level save 1 of that game.
The soundtrack is just icing on the cake.
It was so tedious and disappointing, to the point of souring me on any Sonic game released after that.
To this day, I still have never played any post-Genesis Sonic game.
Those are probably the best 2.

I feel like I should add that the most recent console I own is a Playstation 2, and that I pretty much stopped playing new games around 2006.
But what the hell I might just take your suggestion on Generations. My roommate has a PS3. I should ask her if she wouldn't mind me downloading it or something.

Regarding Origins, I wasn't crazy about so much of the challenge being optional doodad collection. It was beautiful, charming, and controlled great, but it's also still a very Ubisoft game. Some of those chase levels are really neat, though.

JP1 on the genesis has not aged well
Ridtar is the goddamn bomb. That one indie game with a weird jester as its main character looked at first to be a Freedom Planet style update of Ristar but it turned out to be more like a 2D Nights game or something and I was sad.
