The fact that this game never shows what's going on inside the turtle, in favor of just showing Stoic McTimestop grunting at the end of each cutscene, is the biggest missed opportunity.
at least oldseph is featured prominently
True enough. He is pretty great.
The stunt he pulled to defuse the fatal argument in this episode was quite good.
he just wants to show caesar how cool hermit purple is
I sometimes wonder what it'd have been like if the series had stuck to fighting the ghost of the week in his hometown. That hard shift to afterlife politics and conspiracy was one hell of a gear change.
Someone somewhere said it best by describing Bleach as a grade school pretend fight between two kids who constantly pull bullshit powers out of their asses to outdo their opponent.
"Ha ha! I hit you with my ultimate attack!"
"Nun uh, I blocked it with my ultimate shield!"
"Oh yeah? Well my hidden attack breaks your shield!"
"W...well I knew you were gonna do that! That's why my super duper mega attack just happened to beat your...."

Etc etc
Is "no anime" a super hard concept for you to wrap your head around?
I just finished Ep 24 of Nier and I know that I'm super late to the party, but Pat's eagerness to jump right back in is absolutely amazing. And then ultimately disappointing. Hooray text!
Why the fuck do people keep giving David Cage money to make games? Take the money you give to David Cage and give it to SWERY. Think of what SWERY could do with a ridiculous budget.

D4 is perfectly playable
It's how i know SWERY isn't just a one-off wonder and could actually do some impressive and consistent stuff given the right conditions

"Unplayable" is not the same thing as "system i don't enjoy"
The stamina thing is divisive but it works the way it should, unlike most of DP, bless it's little heart
I believe the quote was something along the lines of "I just want to see who I play as!" And then, text. Nothing against the game, I like the white on black text bits, but it was quite the enthusiasm drain.
I know I was pretty eeeeeh on these guys at first, through their old hunters LP but man they've really grown on me (dark souls 3 with pat, woolie and matt was awesome). And I'm not just saying that because I appreciate the Simpsons references, but they at least counteract the quick bread wars.

Quick bread wars?
Oh my god, the Muffin Conflict was only one skirmish!
Yeah, there's something about Cage's pretensions, and the way he keeps scraping right up against some really good ideas then completely sabotages his own potential, that's absolutely fascinating when you're not spending your own time or energy playing them. People use the comparison to a slow-motion traffic accident a lot but I think it's really accurate in the case of Quantic Dream games. You really can see exactly when and how they fall apart and you just can't stop watching.
I don't know what I find weirder. The idea of a power that turns someone into a snail via the power of suggestion, or the fact that this isn't the first game I've seen with almost that exact power being used.

Disappointing on Pat's part, I mean.

The stamina thing makes a little more sense with context about SWERY himself as well.
