Hmm, the leaderboards for the 2015 version have gone down and the recent versions of the game don't run on my pc. The V3 beta runs in admin mode, which is good, but the leaderboard is spotty at best. It's eaten my last two high scores. The best of which is 185 seconds. Sure, I can fairly easily replay it to try again. But I don't feel like playing if the game is anything less than perfect.

191.2474 seconds now. Would've been nice to reach 200s but I'm sure I'll get there eventually. I'm on the V3 beta, and I haven't encountered any more leaderboard glitches yet. So hopefully that sticks.
I died running into a venom sac. Which is doubly embarrassing because 1, it's immobile and glows bright green, and 2, it's created when you let a spider eat one of your upgrade gems. Oh well, at least I've never let a sac hatch.
I'm still at 180, and haven't played in a bit because I'm volunteering at a MAGFest event all weekend, but I am slooooooowly getting better at managing the stuff that comes up around 120-145 seconds so hopefully that will lead to gains before too long
The latest update + Devil Daggers being in the latest Humble Bundle is good news. It's satisfying to improve your score incrementally but to jump up the score board in leaps and bounds.
The bad news is the game still eats my high scores.

I only play it in short bursts. I find it perfect for when I'm cooking. Stir, play a game, stir, play a game. I usually last only 60 to 120 seconds so it works out ok.
Whew, 11 and a half hours in and I've finally cracked 200 seconds. 200.1119!
According to other DD players it took them 30-60 hours to reach 500. I have a feeling it might take me longer than that though.

I can't play Devil Daggers for longer than five minutes because I use headphones and it's maybe the scariest most intense short form video game I've ever seen

The top down view is rad though.
It is a very rad game. I'm still not any better at it though. I think my best so far is only 70ish seconds, I forget exactly since it's been awhile.
My arms are absolutely knackered though
Turns out at some point they made the OST downloadable but I'm not sure how much I dig it as a listening experience outside of the game.
Edit: also I need to find a way to play this with headphones without digging behind my computer.

but playing DOOM in the meantime at least means I'm at least capable of reading the floor pretty well, so now it's mostly getting re-used to movement
