Crocodiles on the rampage!

Dateline China.

Young ruffians jumping a fence and throwing rocks at crocodiles got what was coming to them when one of the crocs grabbed one of the boys and dragged him to the other crocs, who proceeded to eat him. Just desserts? I think so.

Earlier Taiwan.

A vet reached to remove sedation darts from a not so sedated crocodile, who promptly bit the vets arm off. All is well, as the croc was further sedated, and the arm was reattached to the man. Talk about a helping hand!

    It does look a bit like an alligator.

    but its hard to tell since the hand is in its mouth so we cant see it with its jaws closed, nor can we get a good top down view of its snout.

    I don't know the CAUV rule

    it's just got teeth that are hidden when the mouth is closed, a squarer head

    but I suppose it is a croc, as it was in Taiwan, and alligators are only in China and US

    Alligators have a U-shaped head.

    Crocodiles have a V-shaped head.

    That's the most obvious cosmetic difference.

    The latest scandal to attract public attention came last year in Shanghai when a city zoo cancelled its “Animal Olympics” after shows featuring boxing matches between kangaroos and their keepers, bears fighting and riding bicycles and an elephant tug-of-war drew unwelcome publicity. The event was cancelled after animal rights groups posted reports and pictures on the internet.

    plus the 4th lower tooth is visible in Crocs (I think) when their mouth is closed

    alligators aren't because they have a recessed cavity for this enlarged tooth in their gumline

    I had a couple of friends that had this HUGE paul hogan poster on the back of their door in high school. it was amazing.
