Farmers can now divorce their spouses for a hefty fee, and as one player detailed on Reddit, it’s a heart-wrenching process. For 50,000 gold, farmers can end their marriages, all without consulting their partner first. The player’s given the night to think it through, but if they don’t change their mind, their relationship will be over by morning.
Following a divorce, the player gets full custody of any kids and becomes a single parent. Running into an ex will be just as upsetting as it is in real life, based off this player’s screenshot:
There is one thing that regretful new divorcees may like, according to the game’s wiki. Players can pay a visit to the local witch, whom they encounter later in the game, and ask her to wipe their ex’s memory. They won’t remember the divorce ... and they won’t remember the marriage either. It’s bittersweet, but it’s the only way for players to get back together with their former partner.
What patch will add a carpenter that isn't completed halted by a single patch of dirt going untilled by the time I reach her stupid shack in butt ass nowhere.
edit: wait is the carpenter the alcoholic? that would make a lot of things make sense.

that's a little scary, now that I think about it
No, she's good to drive.
She needs a bit of a buzz to be alert, you see!
Doesn't she kick the habit if she actually has a job to do?
This fan made strategy guide looks really cool. I'm pretty tempted even though I basically memorized half this stuff.
That looks like a lot of creativity and artwork went into something that will be incomplete and possibly contain wrong information by monday ....
( Yes I hate the cynical part of my brain too)

Stardew Valley 1.2 will let you pick spouses based on genetic traits, plot murders against rival farmers, conquer neighboring farmlands, and build a farming dynasty that lasts over centuries
1.3 will introduce Mongol invasion
So Stardew Valley meets Crusader Kings 2?
I'd play that.
jokes aside
a feudal farming simulator has some legs
I've wondered if a post-apocalyptic farm simulator could work.
Working a blasted soil with low-tech tools while all around you are the ruins of a high-tech society where you might be able to scrounge some sprinklers or, there again, might run into packs of mutated animals.

I've been pokin' away at a cyberpunk dystopian farming game
AgriCorps control the food supply, and your literally-underground, UV-powered garden is an act of quiet rebellion
I'll probably start a new farm later this week with the batfarm.

The foraging might be more useful if the spawn rate of its plants was a bit more. Seems like it generated hardwood, though, but I may be wrong. Been a while since I played, might be remembering hardwood logs incorrectly.

Ok, so what happens to the poor kid when you wipe one of his parent's memory of his existence?

That's my mother-in-law you are talking about.
My sweet darling's sweet mother.

This is where I feel old, cause heck Robin would be a little young for me, think I'll go be a weirdo loner in the forest with Linus maybe
edit: what patch will add crusty old man in wheelchair as a player avatar

oh nice
I have the feeling that, as dedicated as he is to stardew valley, he'll want to work on something new sooner rather than later
same goes to Tobyfox while I'm thinking about it

I been saving wheat all week waiting to make that sweet wheat flour because Fuck you Pierre you get enough of my money
but it's real tempting to restart (again) with one of the other layouts

There's always just something a little off about the controls
even though it'll probably be a pain to navigate later on, next time will try the river layout
as much as I like foraging, it's kinda boring for it

Stardew Planner v.2 has all the new layouts, incidentally.
only negative is the land next to the house isn't near a water source, but early iron ore and geodes are nice
