i would totally do self-service emissions testing if it were available here
although it sure seems like we are headed in that direction, at least. last year they discontinued the inspection sticker - you used to get 2 windshield stickers for your car, one was your inspection sticker you got at the (privately run) inspection place, the other was your registration.
now all you get is your registration. all the inspection places do is enter in to their computer system that you passed the inspection.
