Between this and their april fools thing I kind of love those guys
I normally think that #brands trying to commercialize mourning is gross
But goddamn if it ain't appropriate for a site about fuckin' to give the man a nod
Yeah most commercial "tributes" to recently deceased artists are exploitative bullshit
Oh you're doing a big Prince thing on your storefront or broadcast or what have you because he meant so much to you huh
yeah any of that spike in Prince profits you'll be getting going to charities he supported or causes he believed in?
No?
Oh well I suppose it's understandable you're probably so distraught right now that you completely forgot to stop being a cynical greedy fuck for even one sweet minute
Just to be clear I'm not talking about stuff like the Porn Hub example. They're not really profiting off that, no one is throwing more dollars at them because they did a nice thing with their logo.

What are your thoughts about the Google Doodle? They threw that together really quickly..
Edit: And for me it's already replaced by Earth Day.

My rule for commercial tributes is that, if it isn't motivated by genuine sadness, it should at least be impossible to tell.

I went to their page to see it and they got ad money from me, however slight

Going back on Princes twitter timeline is certainly a magical journey.
So what I got out of this is that somewhere, in some vault guarded by the Jehovah's Witness's version of the Free Masons, is unheard of Prince music that will slowly get released over the course of the next few years. As long as some brave adventurers are willing to dive deep and solve puzzles and deadly traps based on God, Music, and Love.
Am sat here, so drunk, at the townie bar, with Little Red Corvette playing on the jukebox. Would love to get freaky tonight but Prince will have to take a raincheck.
I did the super cliche thing and bought the Greatest Hits last night, because his music isn't on anything streaming (that anyone uses), and that was I have my bases covered.
I put it on during my commute and once the classics all got through I was listening to those songs that make a Greatest Hits album cool - the non-singles that have a cult following or are super unique.
Jesus "Gett Off" is just sex in auditory form.
Listening to it with headphones as I walked through the office sure was something.

I'm not gonna pretend that I'm super familiar with more than a handful of Prince songs
But "When Doves Cry" is a song that I listen to pretty much every time it plays on the radio, which is thankfully pretty often.

Sang 'Purple Rain' at karaoke last night to a crowded but silent bar.
"A new take on the epic fantasy genre... Darkly comic, relatable characters... twisted storyline."
"Readers who prefer tension and romance, Maledictions: The Offering, delivers... As serious YA fiction, I’ll give it five stars out of five. As a novel? Four and a half." - Liz Ellor My new novel: Maledictions: The Offering. Now in Paperback!
I knew there was another version, been digging since yesterday, but found the Batdance that had Prince in Joker uniform and had the Joker/Batman dance teams. en.musicplayon.com/play?v=478997
Yeah, he wasn't my thing, but he was talented and quite the hard worker. In other news, top story for local paper's site, "Bieber enrages Prince fans with comments."

Paul Westerberg of The Replacements, another Minnesota legend, talks about Prince
I've been reminded of this passage in the wonderful recent book about the entire career of The Replacements, Trouble Boys

I feel like prince would have wanted it this way
I'll bring the purple strobe

I think Little Red Corvette may be the perfect song.
