What I've done since day one was hide the reactions' user icons with the following code in Stylish:
.RecordReactions {
display: none;
}
That turns this (apologies to Chincy for being the example here, his first post in the thread was just too perfect not to use):
into this (my code for hiding the poll choice is active here as well, oops!):
which is infinitely better imo.
It seems with a little extra effort you could solve the problem completely by just hiding chincy's post
Witness Me is pretty important for when someone is discussing something not good that is not awesome and that you don't agree with it happening, which comes up a lot in trans or LGBT threads
Users shouldn't be promoting their Twitter feeds on here. Feel free to report that if it's a pattern. If it's like once in a blue moon who cares.

It's not, really, but I don't think efficiency is necessarily the only goal of this whole thing, and Tube's made a few comments on why he's not necessarily keen on having other reactions, so we might as well work with what we've got.

I'm not convinced that "Witness Me" has a clear, unambiguous meaning across the whole forum, and that ambiguity can lead to misinterpretation of intent.

Yea, we all love to live vicariously through the early big gains of a newbie lifter. Theres nothing like those first 6 months of lifting to see a huge change in someone.
And I mean, dog piles happened plenty before reactions and if the agree reaction is keeping people from posting the kind of content free agreement posts that controversial threads sometimes were full of then it's all to the good.
The more I think about it, the more I like the idea of stripping all reactions from a post when it is infracted. It sucks to get dogpiled and it sucks for a bunch of people to Agree with a sick burn somebody drops on you, but I think neither of those are as upsetting as seeing a post that was bad enough to get someone punished, with a bunch of Agrees and Awesomes hanging off it.

This also hides the Agree and Awesome buttons, so I won't be tempted to click them. I am now browsing in a Reaction-Free forums!
It's a bit strange up front, and there's still a bit of a habit to mouse down then when I read a post I want to React to, but also refreshing in a way. Until hiding it, I didn't realize the subtle psychology involved: I was subconsciously judging the merit of a post based on the number of little squares below it. Now, only the words themselves matter.
It would be nice to have the option to disable the reaction menu on mobile, whether or not you hide actual reactions. I visit administrative threads on my phone and it's only a matter of time
