I've only been spoiled by stupid video's thumbnails in my youtube recommendations but... just from those thumbnails looks like the next batch of episodes in going in a direction I wouldn't have expected for awhile.

so here's a thinker:
we know that when gems fuse, their respective stones get appropriately places in the resulting body
both pink diamond and rose quartz seemed to have their gems in the exact same place
what do you think would happen, were they to fuse

I love that the Earth Quartz Soldiers are basically Gem Clone Troopers a sororal warrior subculture . I'm guessing they'll be back soon since they don't seem to have love for their CO. Also Jesus all those Rose Quartz. I kinda suspected their was gonna be a mass execution but this is much worse
I have a podcast now. It's about video games and anime!Find it here.
"What's the use of feeling blue" is a really strong line for that song because it can also be read as "What's the use of feeling, Blue." which fits into Yellow Diamonds character perfectly.
Also I hope they holy back for the Zoo humans and the guard gems at some point.

The Zoomans were kinda creepy. Like really innocent but not in a god way. The Star Trek Tunics did not help. I could see them ending upon the farm with Lapis and Peridot.

As much as Steven is a flower child, Greg is so much more of one that he has a way easier time playing along with the Zoo's weird, creepy communal living style. (Not that it's weird and creepy because it's communal.)
who is blue diamond's voice actor, just curious? I know yellow is patti lupone, just curious if blue is some big shot as well

Just saw an episode from season 1 I've somehow never seen before
The one where they build a spaceship in the barn. It seems real important to Pearl's development, and is the first appearance of the barn and how did I never see it before!?
Also general spoiler things about this batch of episodes:
I know some people guessed it but I still super love having your main antagonists all having grief as the primary motivating factor for their actions. Like, it doesn't mean they'd be good folks even if Pink Diamond was around but it does give an oddly sympathetic light to the leaders of an alien oligarchy that goes around destroying the life of other planets. Also it's interesting in thinking that the diamonds themselves, or specifically Yellow Diamond, is being emotionally trapped by their own social pyramid. Diamonds don't grieve, diamonds are strong. Diamonds must be perfect and must always be in control. Of everyone else and themselves.
But maybe loss, of understanding what it means to lose someone who matters to you... maybe that could be what offers the Diamonds a path towards change. Already Blue Diamond seems to have changed, and mostly for the better. Ruby and Sapphire remember her as cruel, but her immense sadness seems to have tempered that.

Someone on tumblr pointed out that they already seem to be having some parallels with Pearl and Blue Diamond. You could also make a case for Yellow and Garnet.
My favorite thing about the episodes probably came from the last one.
The reveal that amethysts in general just fucking do not give a fuck, and that Jasper is probably the way she is because of the discrimination against her kind. Just all those amethysts being familial and not giving a fuck, even the Jasper.
Well
In Jasper's case, it's not about discrimination from others. Or about her being a Jasper.
It's about a deep-seeded hatred of herself, stemming from a familial connection to Rose Quartz. Because Rose shattered Pink Diamond, she has nothing but contempt for anyone else who came from the same planet, including herself.
That's why she refused Steven's help back in Earthlings. The whole "You can't manipulate me" spiel is an excuse.
She refused because she didn't think she deserved it. Sugar herself said as such.
Blue Diamond really gives off a Leiji Matsumoto vibe.
Yellow Diamond's song also sounds like it's... related to "Isn't it Over?" the same way Les Mis songs tend to be compatible overlapping with each other. I don't know the musical term for songs that do this.
Exactly what I was thinking about Blue the whole time - nice contrast to Yellow's spiky harsh design.
This probably isn't going to happen, but... (new episode spoilers)
I really want to see an episode that's Connie, Peridot and Lapis teaming up to defend Beach City while the Crystal Gems were away
i totally expect them to. Also for those Rubies to get taken care of. Though I'm glad to see they seem to be doing mostly okay.

Some things about the new episodes
- Pearl's refusal to say who she used to serve clinches it for me. She was Pink diamond's pearl.
- From the song: "Agates terrify, Lapis' teriform." So that's what Lapis was on earth for, teriforming.
- I love that the first of the zoo humans to do his own choosening made a same sex choice. Not that he was the only one, and surely the very novelty of someone like Greg made him interesting to everyone, but I just imagine that guy had been dying for gay sex his whole life.
- When Agate first started talking about how "you just have to understand their needs" in order to keep humans in line, I was sure that the answer was going to be televisions for everyone, heh. But a basically utopian world where they want for nothing is a much better answer to the problem. I wonder what the fruit is made of, though.

To be honest, I can't imagine freedom would be great for them.
They have everything they need and seem very happy.
If they were little kids, who hadn't spent long living that way, I would feel different. But they all seemed to be around young adult age.
They're past the stage where they would acclimate well to a non-controlled environment, I think.

Then the farm would be a hippie commune and Uncle Carl would have a heart attack.

Though at a guess their diamonds would appear the same way they do on their logo.
I really want to see more of the gems at the Zoo.

Part of the problem:
Sapphire: "...No"
*everyone besides Sapphire & Ruby get terrified expressions
Sapphire (nervously): "Just... stick together. Let's change the future!" *not very confident smile*

On a related note
Connie is a year or two younger than steven...
"Sorry, i'll clean that up later!"
She's just the best and i want her in every episode

I am guessing this is exactly what's going to happen
which would make Jasper, should she ever return, be the Vegeta-esque "outsider" to the group, which is fine by me
also we'll probably get a filler episode in between about them dealing with the space-stuck rubies
