Well, I miss Saturday morning cartoon intros, where they spend actual money creating awesome looking openings to trick you into watching the actual show.
I still remember the massive swerve of emotions when I first watched the Mega Man intro.
I loved that show. And that intro. Nobody I knew had ever seen it, so they didn't believe half the stuff I was trying to describe. Thank god for Youtube.

I only remembered it when the SBF brought it up.
Nostalgia Critic used to be my go-to for drudging up obscure cartoons from my memory, but it seems he stopped doing that a while ago.
As much as I enjoy watching these guys play video games, boy howdy
I don't know that they need to be defending Lovecraft from Plague. Or from anyone. Ever.
Granted I don't know if Woolie's ever actually read Lovecraft, and may be basing the need for defense on the concept of cosmic horror that Lovecraft inspired in others, but I'm pretty sure Matt has partaken in the actual works

Lovecraftian horror is pretty underrated insofar as there aren't as many modern examples as could be hoped for
Lovecraft himself? Not so much

Death of the author dawg
What has that got to do with saying that Lovecraft himself is an underrated author

It's a rule of horror, any kind of horror, that knowing something bad is about to happen without knowing exactly when it's going to happen can be much worse than being surprised by something bad happening.
This Shitstorm has been a bit disapointing compared to the last few. Which is understandable as it's hard to find 31 genuinely scary games each year. But man, seeing Matt and Pat cringe like babbys is pure schadenfreude.

Lovecraft is pretty good. The weirder the better, in my opinion.
Cause like, while I don't think Lovecraft was a bad writer I also don't think it was writing skills so much as his ability to come up with lots of weird, unsettling ideas that got him a fan following.
I'm guessing this is the thing Matt mentioned on his stream as being potentially a run-ender. Because if I were them I'd be doing a lot of hard thinking about how much effort it's worth expending on trying to fix this. Especially since NONE of the listed bypasses seem to be confirmed to work consistently.

the last thing when the guy was like 'confirmed to work twice' where you had to jump a bunch, when he said go when the boxes are below you - he meant all the boxes, such that when they weren't there they wouldn't push you off like exactly what happened
I remember trying the demo of RE5 and thinking it was one of the worst things I'd ever played. But I hoped it was just balanced for multiplayer or something and that would improve it. So I took my system over to play it multiplayer with a friend. We beat the demo mission together and he immediately told me it was the worst thing he'd ever played.

Yeah but I can't really blame Pat for not understanding what they meant, in the moment. And I can't blame ANYONE but the production team for the game locking up at that failstate.
I watch a lot of la-mulana streams and a thing that happens often because of the way a hint is worded is someone will slightly misinterpret it, go to the area, and slightly do the wrong thing and conclude "well that didn't work" then toss the whole idea out

Which is not something I thought I'd say about a ten minute video of a man screaming at his girlfriend.
This is what the end of the world sounds like.

This is the best spooky moment so far, in my opinion.
Holy shit this Omikron bug.

Cage sent them to hell, but they have to go deeper, take back everything they've lost!
I mean fuck, they were all game testers, it was kind of obvious. but pat is lost in the depths of the cageism
but boy was it not good
the multiplayer in 5 and 6 is really good!
just the multiplayer though
no longer were they remotely spooky games at that point, but I remember enjoying them

hoping that doesn't wind up being the case here
