    Weed is bad, IMO

It is empirically better for human health than alcohol, and has genuine medical uses. I personally prefer drinking to getting stoned, but there's no question that of the two weed is far more beneficial and less harmful.

The NFL is gonna need to soften their stance on marijuana. It's legal in some form in the majority of states now, and it's a way better pain solution than opioid painkillers. Would they rather have their players smoke some herb, or be addicted to oxy?

Even if it's something like "if it's legal where the team is based and the player isn't breaking any laws then the league won't pursue disciplinary action." It wouldn't be fair for guys who play in states where it's still illegal, but the league really needs to do some thinking on this.

So Watkins is back playing... but apparently still has a broken bone in his foot. What the hell are you doing Bills, why are you risking your possible all-pro WR who's already injury prone for a 15% chance of making the playoffs? The injury gods already hate your WR corp, do you really want to test them again?

Secrets, lies, and tragedy. The trifecta.

Maybe if he acted like a professional and stopped spending all of his time on party boats during the Summer, he wouldn't have that punctured lung and broken back.

    Think about it.

San Diego voted overwhelmingly against the Chargers

What I predicted last year has come true: all of the St Louis Rams, Oakland Raiders, and San Diego Chargers are headed for new homes

I really hope the Raiders win the Super Bowl so the Oakland fans can get one more on the way out.

And then I hope none of them watch football again because fuck the NFL, this stadium bullshit is just the worst. 7 billion dollar per year organization can buy it's own fucking stadiums if they want.

The legality of it is irrelevant even if it's legalized nationwide. They won't change their draconian drug policy until their fan base and sponsors change their perception of it. The NFL is not interested in being progressive they only care about profit.

And seeing that Trump's ag pick is rabidly anti pot we're about to have those legal places rolled back.

As I understand it the DoJ's official stance has always been against states legalizing and I think the new AG is going to have a really tough time unringing that bell though.

They aren't putting the genie back in the bottle. Especially once they start reaping the financial benefits of legalization.

Mike Priefer will be coaching the Vikings tonight in Zimmer's absence.

" Near the end of November, several teammates and I were walking into a specialist meeting with Coach Priefer. We were laughing over one of the recent articles I had written supporting same-sex marriage rights, and one of my teammates made a joking remark about me leading the Pride parade. As we sat down in our chairs, Mike Priefer, in one of the meanest voices I can ever recall hearing, said: “We should round up all the gays, send them to an island, and then nuke it until it glows.” The room grew intensely quiet, and none of the players said a word for the rest of the meeting. The atmosphere was decidedly tense. I had never had an interaction that hostile with any of my teammates on this issue—some didn’t agree with me, but our conversations were always civil and respectful. Afterward, several told me that what Mike Priefer had said was “messed up.”

    What a neat guy

I don't think it's got anything to do with morality. I think it has to do with the NFL essentially being in the pocket of quite a few beer and spirits companies, who view weed as direct competition. So they're siding with the people lining their pockets instead of common sense.

Starting to wonder who sold their soul at Jerryworld. Winning one score games is essentially luck and the cowboys have only lost one while being in a ton.

Obviously can't be Jerry himself since he certainly sold his decades ago.

A witness, who declined to give her name, said she saw a man at the intersection yelling at McKnight, who was trying to apologize. The man shot McKnight more than once, the witness said. She said he shot McKnight, stood over him and said, "I told you don't you f--- with me." Then the man fired again, she said.

Witness accounts are notoriously unreliable but holy shit what. And they let that guy go? Even if they intend to charge him later he seems pretty fucking dangerous.

I think the only concern the league actually has with pot is that they can reduce the restrictions on it in exchange for concessions from the players union in the next cba.

Is it getting depressing that I don't even need to click these things anymore to know the guy was 1) a former cop and 2) white?

It'd surprise me to see justice done in Louisiana here. Or America, but I've long since given up on that concept.

Road rage incidents are always horrifying displays of how dangerous humans can be. I was once followed for miles by a person who just wanted to scream for cutting him off on his way to a meeting he made himself late to so he could scream. Haven't really drove since.
