Help updating my video card, what should I choose?

People have been asking me what I'd like for x-mas this year. I thought I might put a video card on my list. I'm running a computer from 2012 and I've fallen out of PC building.

I'd really like to start playing Warhammer: Total War. Could you guys help me out? I figured that if I supplied my current motherboard, power supply, CPU, RAM, you guys might give me advice on what to upgrade my video card to.

The biggest question is how much do you want to spend.

Currently something like the GTX 1060 is probably what I'd recommend for the best price to performance ratio, but you could go up or down a little depending on what your price range looks like.
