PSP shenanigans

so there's a psp over at the store down the street for $130, and it is taking all my willpower not to get it


i need some input here. are there any good games for it besides metal gear solid portable ops? can it run emulators on the most recent firmware? will it shit out bricks of gold?

    First, we can't talk about emulators here, ever. Ever.

    Second, homebrew? On the latest firmware? No, you'd have to pray it had an older firmware that could be reverted or something.

    Third, no, it's the DS that prints money, not the PSP. Common misconception.

    So far as I know it won't run that on the most recent firmware. There are custom firmwares out there that will allow you to play homebrew and such, but I'm not sure how easy it will be to switch over to one of those on the recent firmware (as I have been using custom firmware and things like devhook since 1.5)

    While I can't speak for all of those games, I can say that the GTA games for the PSP suck.

    Yup, Me and My Katamari. Some people hate the controls, they worked fine for me. I forgot about Castlevania, that looks awesome too.
    Edit: Alternatively, the PSP won't have Phantom Hourglass nor Ninja Gaiden. Obvious, yes, but something to keep in mind.

    I keep hearing about buying Playstation 1 games for the PSP. Is there some legal way to do that?

    I've heard about it for ages, but everything I see on google indicates it's not available yet.

    I don't own a PSP. But I played my friend's copy of Katamari a bit. I love Katamari, I did not like PSP Katamari. I sorta hated the controls. Sad but true. I think I'm a snob.

    PSP for 130 sounds like a good deal. I would probably buy it. There aren't a lot of PSP games I'm wild about but shit. You could probably resell it and break even if you hated it.
