Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it, follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!

If you're just talking a once or twice thing, if you just give her your seat number which we'll assign you at registration, she should be able to talk to Red or someone else at the BYOC or maybe PC Freeplay desk, and we can pull you out, if nothing else.

The other ideas here are definitely going to be more reliable and faster...depending on how busy we are, it may take a few minutes for someone to be able to abandon their post for this.

I also have those walkies. They pretty much rock. I took them to a resort in mexico this year and they were perfect. They will likely be really good for pax. I might even bring them cuz one buddy is gunna want to take off all the time.

Do we have info on BYOC tourneys yet? I did a search which turned up fairly old threads with little info.

If you've got a specific question, feel free to ask. Detailed information and scheduling for the BYOC activities will go out in an email to be sent to all BYOC registrants in a couple weeks or so. I'll also post a copy of that email here.

Howdy, I pre-registered with a group earlier in the year, is it possible for me to add BYOC to my badge at this point? This thread convinced me that it'l be worth it

Yes you can, if you go back to the registration page on the PAX website and insert your information, there will be a button off to the left that allows you to modify your account. You can add BYOC on that page.

Thanks for the help ^^ But when I reenter my information, it only offers the stardard registration pages with no button off to the left to modify anything- it doesn't seem to indicate that i've already registered. I'm clicking on Registration link on the PAX website, clicking Register Now, and inserting my info there? Is this the wrong page? Perhaps this is because we registered as a group through email?

Hrmmmm, it'll probably need to be added by whoever signed you up as a group, as all the information will be saved with their account.

My pax computer is pretty much done. Oh man, I never knew these Core2duo chips move THAT fast. Well when you throw a 10,000rpm hard disk into that equation it starts to really cruise. I just wish I had another 400-500$ for one of those 15krpm scsi drives.

Let me put it this way, it was an "OH SHIT OH SHIT, THEY FOUND ME :(" moment. I wasn't ready. My code wasn't compiled yet. Our plans weren't setup yet!Sentient programs rarely run into other sentient programs.
Some of you have met me, and I understand your concern of my well being. But that time for that boy, that child, are gone now. Viscount Alpha is no longer operable. His functions are now mine.He may post, but I am the one talking not him.My data, my code will live on forever in his servers.

So, Was there supposed to be something BYOC related with my PAX pass? I look at it and didn't see any bracelet or marking on my pass saying I am doing BYOC.

The BYOC option is on the second page, so you have to click "next" from the first page.

I had a question regarding the network running in the BYOC room. Will it be possible to use a VPN client to connect back to my work servers if I come to BYOC?

I am not fully sure what ports I will need access to, but most hotels seem to be open enough for it to work.

You should be able to. If it doesnt work then come talk to one of the network admins at the event and they may be able to hook you up with some ports ;)

About the only ports we're closing off the bar are the default torrent ports, so Red's right, it should theoretically work.

However, vpn tends to be fairly bandwidth intensive and we'll be capping throughput bandwidth per ip address to try and prevent people from bogging down our connection with random other downloads. Basically, I can't promise you'll have a particularly fast connection, but if you just want to use it to make sure your servers haven't spontaniously combusted every now and then, you should be fine.

BYOC is huge this year. Plus signup started kind of late to cut down on the # of noshows.
