Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it,
follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given
their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!
So, let's talk Sega Saturn.
Posts
I sold my Saturn with 78 games, 2 controllers and gun on eBay for $520.
I am SUCH an asshole.
I learned my lesson, though - I'm holding onto my Dreamcast with almost as many games.
Dark Savior. It's a spiritual sequel to Landstalker on the Genesis, and I remember Gamefan getting quite excited about it 9 (god has it been that long?) years ago. I never got a chance to play it outside of a Sears demo stand, but I had fun with it and I heard it was good. You may want to check that out.

Good luck finding it for a decent price, though.
One ebay auction has ALL THESE listed in ONE auction:
virtual cop 2 solar eclipse galactic attack duke nukem 3d
fighter mega mix darius gaiden golden axe die hard arcade
Nba action NFL quarter back club 96 Hexen Robotica
earth worm jim 2 quake battle monsters xmen children of the atom

dark legend panzer dragoon 2 area 51 maximum force
last bronx Nba live 98 virtua cop NFL 97 clock work knight
iron man x-o amok battle arena toshinden enemy zero
die hard trilogy panzer dragoon
Try and get X-Men versus Street Fighter maybe.
Avoid "Scud: The Disposable Assassin" like the plague.
I still have it all; crap quality
Edit: Might as well list the games:
Virtua Cop 1 & 2
Virtua Fighter 1
Daytona USA
Street Fighter Alpha 2
Street Fighter Alpha
Marvel Super Heroes
Night Warriors (awesome)
Virtua On
Sega Rally
Street Fighter Collection
Guardian Heroes
Some of those games are pretty lame, but a few of them are worthwhile.
My cousin has two Saturn's... with I don't know how many games. But he loves Burning Rangers.
Nothing's forgotten, nothing is ever forgotten
Yeah. And the "Bootleg" Sampler thing. It's the Christmas pack.
I must uncover it!!
- Get a multitap
- Get one of those nifty 4M thingies (I just bought one off Play-asia... should be here in 5 - 12 days...)
- Three Dirty Dwarves. It's a brawler with a cool artistic style, is three players, and is just loads and loads of fun.
- Saturn Bomberman. 10 player bomberman.
- X-Men Children of the Atom. Excellent fighting game.
- Fighters Megamix. Lots of fun.
and then lots of other stuff
(pics horrendously JPEG-ed out of mercy for the 56kers)
(minor spoilers ahead)
NEXT: Guardian Heroes...
or all will be lost
Batsugun
Battle Garegga
Donpachi
Dodonpachi
Guardian Force
Kingdom Grandprix
Rayforce
Raystorm
Radiant Silvergun
Terra Diver
Strikers 1945 II
Cotton 2
Darius Gaiden
Gradius Deluxe
Hyper Duel
Sengoku Blade
Thunderforce V
Salamander Deluxe
I got Radiant Silvergun for a steal at $100, near-mint. The game is great, but its nerd-cred value justified paying double what I'd usually dish out for a game.
SATURN BOMBERMAN
Wide stage allows for 10 players.
GUARDIAN HEROES
45 playable characters:
6 players at a time:
Eh.... looks better in motion...
Golden Silver, the final boss from Gunstar Heroes, is playable (notice the jewels above his head).
What the hell is wrong with his arm?
I wish I had a Saturn with cool games.

You get the weirdest shots in freeze-frame...
4 at the start. Serena is unlocked after beating the game, and the Undead Hero is always your CPU companion.
I got mine at www.sega-parts.com new for $30. They still have copies... now I just need some cheap multitaps and 7 more controllers and I'll be set. The Bomberman Multitap is probally really hard to find anymore.
I just recently got a copy of House of the Dead. I need to calibrate my lightguns better the next time I try to play it though, as I did horribly. It does have the best instruction booklet ever written though.
The reason I own a Saturn is Virtual On. I bought the twin sticks and everything... its bliss. I really want to track down the saturn to DC converter that allows the use of the twin sticks, because Virtual On: OT surpasses the original in many ways.

Hell yeah, Astal kicks ass. I want a Saturn just for this game.

At EB and Gamestop, you can get N64 controllers. You can get old Playstation 1 controllers. You can get SNES and Genny controllers. You can even get NES controllers.
You can't buy a damned Saturn controller. The refuse to even accept the things in trade.
I've been berift of Radiant Silvergun for two years now. I'm going to have to Ebay a controller up, posthaste.

Not like anyone can blame you. After the Genesis, Sega got really, really shitty at marketing stuff. The Saturn era of commercials are perhaps among some of the worst commercials ever created, for anything, in the history of time itself.
Meanwhile, Sega hired Segata Sanshiro in Japan; making the Saturn a modest success for them.
Hey, watch these videos of mine. DO IT.
AFAIK, none of the major game stores carry it or any of its games.
Target doesn't know they sell things on the internet.
I'm guessing it's not going to be worth it

"Ordering" suggests there is a store that has the item in stock. If he got it off eBay or something, it's not "ordering". If he bought it from a small store or something, it's not one I'm likely to know, hence why I asked.
Asshole.
