when you're spending half a second to peel a nice cold prawn as long as your finger, dipping it deep into seafood sauce and eating it in one go it'll all seem worthwhile
when you've got the knack of peeling prawns it takes no time at all
edit: you should really try eating big, fresh cooked prawns. no sauce, nothing. they have flavour alright

One time I put chocolate syrup on a pickle to make fun of my pregnant cousin but then I ate it and it wasn't bad
I've eaten Kangaroo and Alligator, both I remember enjoying however long ago it was, so I'd recommend them both. Apparently you can get Kangaroo meat at Walkabout Bars in Britain, though I've never bothered looking into it.
Agreed on Kangaroo. Why those things even exist in Oz is a mystery to me - if I lived there, they'd be extinct within a decade.
Elk is the damned tastiest meat on earth.
Bald Eagle really can't be considered as exotic anymore, since it's being taken off the endangered species list. And I'm gonna eat one afore I die.
The one bird I've wanted to eat for years, that nobody knows how to get, is Penguin. I so wanna eat a goddamn penguin. Barbecue that fucker up and serve it to people without telling them what it is. Wait until they finish. Spill the beans, watch how they react.

lol, i have a feeling penguin would taste fishy, but I'm in agreement, elk is one of the tastiest meats.
We had all sorts of animal farms out where I lived, so I don't know if they're considered exotic, but I've had buffalo, bison (both taste pretty similar, like a really lean beef), emu, ostrich (again, both taste pretty similar, and like a lean beef, but different from buffalo or bison), frog's legs (very sweet), and horse (I don't think it's legal in the U.S., but I had some in France; kinda tough and stringy, but decent).
And I can confirm that elk is, in fact, delicious.
Shrimp have a great flavor and subtle flavor to them and I think the aroma mixes really well with butter and other sauces. great for pasta.
I also love salad shrimp. Great with blue cheese dressing.
I don't see how you can say they have no flavor.
Can't really think of what I've had that others probably haven't. I've had eel at a sushi place and it is really good. Not as fishy as a lot of the other meats.
Oh, I've had raw oysters a number of times. My dad and brother love them. I'm not a big fan...very strong and flat taste...but not awful. I can swallow them down with a good amount of butter.
Much better if barbecued correctly, though.
I remember cow tongue as tasting really nice and meaty, I'd like to try that again.
Hmmm.
What I really enjoy trying are exotic fruits. There are so many that American's haven't even HEARD of or seen that taste great.

so good. it's such a chore to eat though, nibbling at all that cracked exoskeleton for the hidden niches of flesh
God dammit, you two. That's disgusting.
actually this is not true

Can someone explain to me why people love shrimp so much?
It's a pain to peel and de-vein them.
They taste like nothing.
And they taste delicious.
They have no taste.
The only taste that comes from a shrimp is the sauce they soak up
Because they act like a sponge.
Every two days I had to P&D a pack of shrimp.
I hate them so much.
That and stone crab.

I could eat that stuff every day.
Too easy.
What a nightmare!
Rabbit is not exotic. Saying rabbit is exotic is like saying squirrel is exotic, because they're the same.
Also, frogs are tasty, and they say human tastes like pork.
Squirrel is exotic. So is rat. And chihuahua.
Dude, I have a squirrel in my freezer. If the definition of exotic is "I have to kill it myself" then venison is pretty exotic too.
edit: of course, alligator and boar would be exotic to me, as would a lot of fancier foods. so, guess it's all perspective.
Longpig is loooong
nasty shit makes the best grilled cheese ever.

Oh who are we kidding, Keith?
And for some reason, I just thought of another exotic meat: Koala. They are endangered, right?

I wonder if they taste any different than red pandas.
I eat just about any kind of seafood. That's good shit. I would like to try shark.
Red Pandas probably taste like Raccoon.
