hi everyone!
im tryin to make some comics
but its alot harder than i thought
and most of time people dont get the joke LOL
but ill keep on tryin
hope you guys enjoy my work.
and please feel free to crit me 8-)

heres the 1st one:
i tried to make it like a fps scenerio + bad luck for newbs

    And I too am in the camp of not getting the joke but aside from the distracting gutters, the art didn't offend any of my senses. So it's half a success.

    I'm pretty sure the dude shot at what he thought was an enemy target but it turned out to be a shadow. The shadow is cast by an enemy who's around the corner, and just lobbed a gernade back. Our Hero is about to be blown to smithereens due to his lack of perceptiveness.

    It's like you followed me around on any night I played Battlefield 2.

    Dammit.

    I don't get it either... the third panel is confusing.

    And yes, the text looks weird because it's sharp and the drawing is sketchy. If you're going to leave the drawing at sketchy might as well sketch in the words too.

    If you're going to use "swear" words, don't try to make them nice unless it adds humor. In this case, it would have added humor if it were an i.

    I hate to say it, but I think a main reason why people don't get your "jokes" is that...well...they're just not funny. Sorry, man. I think maybe you should forget about trying to make a funny comic for the time being and just focus on the drawing. There at least seems to be the promise of potential in that area...the jokes are just a lost cause at this point.

    About that second strip...why ghosts? Why not draw an anthropomorphic PS3 console? And then have a Wiimote come flying in from off-panel and harpoon the PS3 right between the eyes...then show an embarassed looking Sony CEO and President in the last panel playing a Wii, with one saying to the other "I guess I should probably order those replacement wrist straps now..."


    Still not very funny....but I'm not trying to write a funny web-comic either, so...

    Your jokes are lame. When I first started making comics, my jokes were also very lame. Now, my comic makes most people laugh. How? Make jokes about things that everyone can understand and can relate to. Don't make jokes that you must explain. And NEVER complain that people don't get your jokes, if you think that, get back to the drawing board. Just keep going, eventually you may just get a spark and become funny to others besides yourself and a few gamers.

    Also, stop bashing the goddamn PS3. It's awesome, and is worth every bit of its price. Needless to say, I got mine without having to pay! Anyway, the games coming out for it are both numerous and great. The 360 has Halo 3 and GoW, (which are both great) big woop.

    This is subjective opinion, and really has no place in a crit. I don't agree with everything that Tycho writes about in PA, but his delivery still makes me laugh.

    Thats the spirit. Thats the way I reacted to the painfully honest crits as well. Keep at it, never say no, and you will hit gold, either that or pyrite... But thats still good.
