As of today I have gotten my first job at a local grocery store called reasors

i'm going to be working at the new one that's all big and stuff and it kicks ass, and i'll be making $7 an hour and I will be working full time, as a cashier (I was expecting bagger, but cashier is better I guess)

I'm nervous though I have to go to a meeting tomorrow and I start training this thursday or the next. It's like my first job ever. Real job at least.

post with first job experiences and ways of calming me down because i'm a little bit worried

I'm 19 and have never had a real job.

Last year I applied to 10 different places, and not one of them hired me. Most of them were done over that bullshit online survey/employment service, and I came up as code yellow every time.

I worked at a grocery store for a few months. Depending on how big it is, it can be a good job. They tend to run you ragged sometimes though,

and if you have an asshole for a manager your life will suck. My last manager was a complete bitch who made me do everything then took 5 smoke breaks an hour, when the company policy was 2 smoke breaks a day.

I actually walked out on her by the third month in front of a full store. Hopefully you don't have to do the same thing.

Green is hire, Yellow is interview in person, and Red is ignore.

Unfortunately, most people consider Yellow to be ignore as well. It was really depressing, as the first time I was passed over it was in favor of a schizophrenic and a pedophile.

    Thats how they got me.
Fucking 44 hour week on top of school, gave a lady like 1 penny to much change and she started bitching me out for it. Got the manager on my case and everything.

He canned me within a week citing "A history of poor performance" after a year and a half working there.

    Asshole

    does it stay in?

does it like mash into some sort of super poop?

    this is confusing.

    my manager seemed pretty rad

and it's pretty local and small, it's not wal-mart that's for sure, and all the employees at least ones I talked to are cool and like the job.

Cashier is also the best job you're going to get at a store so don't fuck it up. The hours go by faster, you get to see alot of people. The other option is usually stocking produce and cleaning the store.

It really blows because the two guys that were picked over me later got fired for being total creeps. One was frightening the customers, and the other was caught on camera freaking out, screaming at people that weren't there, and throwing things.

My first job was as a administrative assistant at a real estate company. It was really pretty easy but my boss thought I was some kind of genius because I could use a computer without getting confused. She was so amazed when I ran disk cleanup and defragged the computer and it ran better.
I'm trying to get a job at St. Vincent de Paul's so I can practice my Spanish and do some volunteer work on the side.
