Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it, follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!
In celebration of our new neighbors I have been struck with the concept for the next big theme SG: WoW in CoX! No Supergroup Uniforms or name formulas on this one, just take a WoW character/concept and make it in CoX.
Suggested powersets (this would be a heroside thing):
Weapons sets; Archery, Axe, Mace, Broadsword or Katana
"Magic" sets; Fire, Ice, Dark (which I seem to recall from my own short time in WoW...do they have storm/elec/etc mages? I don't know)
Assualt Rifle might work for dwarves, especially with a focus on the shotgun shots.
Stone melee for the giant mallet.
Gotta have healr, so Empathy
Probably other stuff I haven't thought of
Just in general, scooter, for themes:
Hunters would use guns and pets
Mages use Arcane, Fire and Ice Magic.
Warlocks use debuffs via shadow magic and fire magic
Priests heal with holy magic and hurt with shadow magic
Paladins hit with maces, heal with holy magic, or tank with sword and board
Warriors use big melee weapons and big armor
Shaman use nature magic to heal and damage
Rogues use knives, stealth, and sneaky crap
Druids use claws to hurt and nature to heal
I'd get in on a trial with this if I wasn't on a super shitty computer.

If this takes off we could probably set up a villain version as well, since only Stalkers can really do Rogues, and only Dominators get "nature" powers. Plus they get real zombies. One thing at a time though.
It's like +2 Magix, but not gay because I'm not LARPing. I'm just applying my nerdy knowledge, which covers multiple subjects.
It comes from wearing my favorite Pink Floyd t-shirt. The shirt itself isn't nerdy, but has become infused with the essence of nerd from being worn so much, especially to my comic shop.
You just dinged on a WoW stereotype... the Night Elf Hunter named some variation of "Legolas" (LeggomyEggolas ) that refuses to use guns because "LEGOLAS USES A BOW!!1!11elevens"
Hunters can use bows, guns, etc.
This space eventually to be filled with excitement
Take a lot of screen shots and post them up in a thread here, while I am not ready to give CoX a try yet. I am curious. (My wife and I played CoH, but cancelled around Sept or Oct 2005.)

You should use one of the free trial codes to give it a try once i10 comes out. Rikti Invasion the Second. Here is a fan made trailer for it.
I'll have to think long and hard about deleting someone to make this, especially on Virtue where my 12 slots are all used up.

Nah, not ready yet, maybe the next time NCsoft/Cryptic sends me an email telling me there is a free weekend I will actually download the game and give it a try for the weekend.
But still pretty busy with WoW stuff so perhaps not.
I would just like to see some screenshots of what CoH people think of when they think of WoW characters.

Shamans with Lightning Bolt/Chain Lightning is the closest to that. Druids get Hurricane, too.
Well, a real purist looking to recreate a shaman in CoH would go with an Empathy/Electric Blast defender. But he'd only take Charged Bolts. We can't have various lightning attacks looking different or anything. That wouldn't be very WoW-like.
Empathy/Dark Blast would make a good stand-in for a shadow priest, too, I think.
Here's my first go at a WoW'er, an Ogre mace tanker. I tried doing a Naga ice blaster, but even allowing for monster legs instead of tail, couldn't give it enough fins to do it justice.

Comin' through with the converting. Hi5.

Nope. They don't even get a bonus to bows; trolls do
The old manual? It never got updated from beta either.
Steam | TF2 inventory
I'd assume Virtue, but want to be sure before I clear a slot out.
Yeah, my manual still says Dwarves can be Mages. If only, if only...
I might be up for this, but, I would need a trial key so if there any left over toss one over.

Edit: Just a heads up, it is a little spoilery.
And just noticed that Seg beat me in posting it. Second place for me!
Make another Warshade, but try to pattern it after a Draenei Shadow Priest.

Someone can hook you up with a free trial. Not me, I ran out, but someone out there can do it.
Wait, actually, try using this link. Let us know if it works.
The woman is included in the pic for scale.
Not a playable race, but very very nice.
Right now we got the ogre, a pandaren scrapper, and a night elf mage/blaster.
NE can't be mages
If you had made a Blood Elf it would have been fine.
So he only kinda counts as a pandaren
Not enough robe variety for my tastes, but I did what I could.
Hi-yah!
