Games Minimizing...?

Okay, I need some quick advice. Everytime I try to open a game full-screen, it minimizes. If I re-open it, it stays open for a few seconds, flashes purple/black and minimizes again. It happens with every game, and only if they are full-screen. It also just started as soon as I got a new monitor, is that the problem?

    I don't know the reason why it's doing this, but I would guess the games are trying to set the resolution to something the monitor will not allow, failing and aborting. If you have a game which has a "safe mode" option you can run it in, perhaps you can try that.
