Guilty Gear 2 announced! BUT...

it's a 3D dynasty warriors-esque game, instead of a beautiful 2d hot sexy fighting game.

    Man, that sucks. With Street Fighter and KoF pretty much done, Guilty Gear was really the last bastion of a fantastic subgenre.

    Seems like they're actually trying to do something with the story, which is hard to do with a fighting game.

    I'd still rather have the fighting game, though.

    Oh, lighten up. A kick ass series is trying a new genre. So what? Pokemon's done it, Dead Or Alive's done it, Final Fantasy's done it. Yeah, there's been mixed success but this is a really cool idea.

    I mean, how much more can they add to a 2-D fighter anyway? It's kind of played out (as fabulous as it is).

    I strongly disagree with this design decision. I hope this is a spin-off title or series, and they continue to make the 2d line as well. The name "Guilty Gear 2" doesn't give me much reason to be hopeful, though.

    This looks pretty hot. But why did they call it Guilty Gear 2? It is not a direct sequel. Guilty Gear : Adventures is more like it.

    Don't get me wrong, I want another 2D Guilty Gear as badly as the rest of you. But this doesn't look so bad and I imagine they'll still release another 2D one in the future.

    Looks like it has potential, but I still want my 2D Fighters.

    Hopefully they'll keep the X series going as a separate entity or something.

    God dammit. It better be the fastest, most over the top beat-em-up in the world or it will fail the franchise.

    Actually, you can argue that this is the direct sequel.

    Guilty Gear ended with the destruction of Justice.

    All of the X games have dealt with the fallout from that incident, with hints on what was coming next. That's explained in GGX2 Story mode.

    I'm gussing they really are going for broke with this story, so, this really is the sequel to the original guilty gear.

    Pity it has to be a 3d action game though. I'll buy it anyway, because, the story really is quite excellent.

    Yeah, if this replaces the 2-D fighters then I'll be pretty upset. Not completely upset, but, ya know, kind of.

    It could be fun. As long as it doesn't replace Guilty Gear proper (as in the fighting games), I can't see a problem with it.

    Oh wow, I completely missed that, it's not even a fighting game, it's a dynasty warriors-alike? Then I can't imagine this will replace the 2d fighters.

    Eh. If you've got a Wii or PS2, then ^Core is coming out soon, which is I've heard like #Reload but better.

    Reloaded for the XBox is the one I own. It was 20 bucks the day it was released, so unless it's a rarity to find, the price shouldn't be bad at all. Awesome game.

    Interesting. Very interesting. I'm excited that it's going to a 3-D action format, mainly because I suck at GG X2. I'm hoping that X-box 360 exclusive doesn't mean truly exclusive, and more of a timed exclusive deal. Otherwise, it's yet another reason to kick myself for hopping on the PS3 bandwagon.

    Well, I guess Metroid Prime really showed a few people a thing or two.

    Maybe GG 2 will be awesome. Ninja Gaiden combat with hordes of enemies ala Dynasty Warriors? Could work.

    And I'm pretty sure they said that they're fixing all those bugs before the USA release of the game.
