    But as far as names, I'm not sure. I think it's just 1,000 sq. feet.

    A hectare is 10,000 square meters. I don't think 1,000 square feet has a specific name.

    Unless the job or program you're applying for deals with esoteric terminology for area or length measurement, use 1000 square feet. Real estate uses square feet, accounting/finance uses square feet when referencing property size, etc.
