Eye Injury

Yeah so on thursday I got sawdust in my eye. Hurt like a bitch. I went to the emergency section at the hospital, they looked at it, told me it was scratched and should heal in a day, nothing major.

So its now saturday and my eye still hurts like a bitch. A bit less so, its definitely healing, but should it be taking this long? Should I be worried? Should I go again?

Answers like "you should go to the doctor if you have the remotest concern" will annoy me. Please back up answers with fact. If need be I will just go to the doctor on my own anyways, I'm not one of those "BAH! I don't need to go to the doctors!" type people.

Thanks in advance.

Well, I've scratched my cornea at least three times I can think of off the top of my head. It's been my experience that they're generally not a big deal and will heal in a day or two.

I wouldn't be alarmed just yet. Give it some more time, make sure you keep a patch on and let your eye heal.

I would give the hospital a quick phone call and ask them if you should come back in.

Once i was walking around in my backyard and i looked up.

My eye hurt like a motherfucker and I couldn't close it or keep it open.

I went to hospital, they tranq'd it, propped open my eyelid and there was a peice of sawdust right at the back of my eye.

Might be a similar situation. The eye cant expell intrusions as well as other parts of the body if it is actually stuck in.

You should consider being evaluated by an Eye Surgeon, some injures require Micro Surgery to heal properly.

Sorry, the correct title of eye doctor is ophthalmologist.

Hear my warnings, unbelievers. We have raised altars in this land so that we may sacrifice you to our gods. There is no hope in opposing the inevitable. Put down your arms, unbelievers, and bow before the forces of Chaos!

You know, I wrote the OP right in the morning when I woke up and my eye was still hurting like fuck.

But then I slept for like 4 hours or so in the afternoon, and when I woke up my eye felt leagues better. Like there is no pain at all right now. Still a little tender, feels kinda puffy, but man I can open my eye fine now and everything.

Thanks for all the advice guys, but I think this thread can now be locked.
