Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it, follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!
I used to play Tetris on my TI-83 instead of, you know, paying attention in class. I had the best score out of everyone at my school. But only a couple people would play against me. God I'm such a nerd.

I think I learned more about programming for graphing calculators than I did about any of my subjects in school. I made a bunch of games that made the rounds at my school, mostly text adventure type games with characters based on fellow students, teachers, etc.
I still regret never finishing my masterpiece, the third game. I'd added an overworld map type thing, kinda like zelda, so the player could move around, instead of picking from a menu, and was doing sprites for all of the characters, and a Final Fantasy type battle screen. My TI-83 just decided to drop dead in the middle of my doing all of the art assets for the game, so I just said screw it.
They were fairly popular though, except for a few people that weren't able to take a joke.
But that's not important.
What is important is that everyone here on PA, except for you two, is afraid of my god-like Tetris abiities. Bunch of sissies, if you ask me.
I guess we should be better versed in ds wifi before doing this, when i click join game it just says searching and if i click invite it just says my name

Yeah, I've just left it on Invite, maybe I have to be on invite first. Try joining again, let it search for a sec.
Anyone know of a decent online tetris clone? I've played a couple that were really laggy, but I wouldn't mind a duel if someone knew of a good one.
But I will take on all comers at sword fighting in Puzzle Pirates.
Cultris is worth a shot if you're looking for online multiplayer tetris. The controls are a bit too loose for my liking, but the game is still loads of fun.
For singleplayer tetris, there's an excellent clone named Heboris. Along with that you'd want to get a copy of the "Heboris unofficial expansion", which is basically a mod created by some very devoted fans. The graphics are somewhat dated, but the gameplay is solid. It's basically a clone of the Japanese arcade game series TGM (Tetris: The Grand Master), and as such, is somewhat designed for hardcore play. Don't let that stop you, though; it does have something for everyone. Unfortunately, official distribution for Heboris (and, subsequently, the unofficial expansion) was recently halted, and as such it might be tough to find a download location now.
Another good choice for singleplayer tetris is Lockjaw. The big draw with Lockjaw is customizability; it lets you modify nearly everything about the game engine, from simple stuff like piece drop speed curves and the number of "next" pieces displayed, to more subtle things like piece randomizers and piece "kicks" (i.e. how the a piece behaves when it hits another piece during rotation). Its presentation is significantly less polished than that of Heboris/UE, but it is skinnable, so that can be remedied to some extent.
EDIT: bleh, figures I'd type all that out and then see the word "online" in the original post. Oh well -- the offline stuff might prove useful to someone anyway.

invite me

Basically, it'll either be valid, or not. It doesn't seem like it has a name associated, but I'd imagine it pops up once you connect.
You're my first tetris friend, so I really have no idea. I'll Invite, I guess you join?

GG, though.
Should we all just agree on a first-to-five thing?
Four player would also be nifty.

Second to last game you had me up against the ropes pretty hard.
"Yep, I lose" were my exact words until I got that straight piece right in the nick of time.

I click the join and your game, but then it just displays my name and boots me.
